Rachel Lindsay ex Bachelor suitor Adam Gottschalk is coming to Bryan Abasolo’s defense in light of Bryan’s divorce filing earlier this week.
Gottschalk, who is now married to Lindsay’s former friend Raven Gates, shared his thoughts on the breakup in a comment to E! Instagram News. The video post in question featured comments from Lindsay’s friend Justin Sylvester Today with Hoda and Jenna appearance, where he revealed that Lindsay is “taking one day at a time” and “just trying to pick up the pieces” while “in survival mode.”
In his comment, Gottschalk said he was “not taking sides, but wanted to point out some facts” about Abasolo since he “knew” him since they both appeared on Lindsay’s season.
“He moved his entire chiropractic practice across the country, sold his house in Miami, left family and friends behind to put everything he could into the relationship,” he explained, according to a screenshot obtained from Bachelornation.Scoop’s Instagram account.
“Rachel said in several interviews that she stopped being a lawyer and started doing entertainment reports. [Bryan] is a workaholic putting in 12-hour days while trying to survive in a high-rent, post-covid California business environment,” he continued. “It’s ROUGH to be doing that at 38 or so now that he’s in his mid-40s.”

When Gottschalk, 33, and Abasolo, 43, battled for Lindsay’s heart on her historic Bachelor season that aired in 2017, Lindsay ended up choosing Abasolo and married him in August 2019.
As for Gottschalk, he later found love within himself Bachelor The nation during his time at Bachelor in Paradise. The reality star met his wife Gates, 32, on a summer spinoff and the couple now share two children: Gates’ sons Zev and Max Asa.

News of Lindsay and Abasolo’s divorce broke on Tuesday. According to documents obtained by PEOPLE, Abasolo filed for legal dissolution in Los Angeles, citing New Year’s Eve as the separation date. He cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason.

After the news broke, Abasolo spoke about the couple’s split in a statement shared on Instagram.
“After more than 4 years of marriage, Rachel and I have made the difficult decision to separate and start over,” he wrote. “My parents have been married forever and I’m a family man, but sometimes loving yourself and your partner means you have to give it up.”
“I wanted you to hear this from the source before the blogs start making up their own reality. Please respect the spaces of our family and friends as we figure out our next steps,” he added.

Lindsay has yet to give an official response. However, ahead of the divorce news, she noted on Instagram that 2023 was “definitely one of the hardest years of my life, but I decided to focus on the moments of gratitude and carry that energy into 2024 💛”
