Reba McEntire Jokes That Rex Linn ‘Wants to Bet’ on Her Super Bowl National Anthem Length

Reba McEntire and Rex Linn may be keeping some Super Bowl secrets!

On Saturday, the country music star posted a hilarious video on Instagram in which she and her partner recreated a popular scene from Friendsjust one day before the national anthem was scheduled to be sung at the big game.

“When Rex wants to bet the length of the national anthem,” McEntire, 68, jokingly captioned the video, which shows the pair mouthing some famous dialogue from Friends characters Joey and Rachel.

The audio they used in the clip was pulled from the Season 5 episode, “The One with All the Resolutions,” where Joey and Rachel discuss keeping the same secret. Although it is unclear what Linn, 67, actually knows about McEntire’s upcoming Super Bowl performance, the two are still having fun keeping the concert secret.

Ahead of her “Star-Spangled Banner” performance at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on Sunday, McEntire told PEOPLE what the moment means to her.

“Oh, I’m so excited. You know, it’s not about me. It’s about everybody who worked so hard to get to the Super Bowl, and my job is to bring the patriotism,” McEntire said earlier this week during a discussion about her new collaboration with Sonic.

As McEntire described her role, she will “sing not only for the people who will be performing and playing on the field that day,” but also for those who “have worked so hard to secure our freedom and try to have as much peace on earth as we can. ”

McEntire also shared that as the Kansas City Chiefs face off against the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, she’ll have some nice words to say if she runs into Taylor Swift, who fans hope will be in attendance to cheer on boyfriend Travis Kelce.

“I’m going to congratulate her at the Grammys. God, she took that thing so well,” McEntire said of Swift, who won trophies for best pop vocal album and album of the year for Midnight at the 2024 Grammy Awards.

“I’m thrilled to death with their relationship. Travis is a cutie pie,” she added, noting she was “excited” to potentially meet several athletes on Sunday.

Usher teases performance of new songs for Super Bowl, gets instructions from Katy Perry: ‘She gave me some notes’

Additional Super Bowl performances include Post Malone’s performance of “America the Beautiful” and Andre Day’s performance of “Lift Every Voice and Sing,” while Usher will of course headline the halftime show.

Usher also teased some special guests for the performance, saying Party tonight that he would be a “fool” to do his own thing Confessions press “Yes!” without the help of featured artists Ludacris and Lil Jon.

“I’d be a fool not to play ‘Yeah!’ – let’s start there, Usher said. “It would be stupid to come all the way to Las Vegas, Jon’s here, Luda’s here, and not play ‘Yeah!’ ”

The Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers will face off in Super Bowl LVIII, which will air on CBS on February 11th at 6:30pm ET.
