Ree Drummond Reveals She Skinny Dips in Her New Hot Tub with Husband Ladd ‘3 or 4 Evenings a Week’

Ree Drummond and her husband Ladd have become skinny dippers — but it’s not what you think!

The A pioneer star revealed on her blog that there had been a “development in old Drummond’s marriage”. She recently installed a hot tub in the backyard of her new home in Oklahoma. He started working until the end of the summer, and from then on they enjoyed him without clothes “three to four nights a week.”

Ree, who became vacant in January when her youngest son Todd left for college, explained the first night they started the tradition.

“The only complication, and I’m sorry if this is too much information, is that since we’re not pool people, neither of us has a swimsuit,” she wrote. “So we waited until dark because I’m shy about my body, walked around the yard wrapped in towels and waded into the 103-degree water in our birthday suits. It was absolute bliss — warm, bubbly bliss.”

The Food Network star assured her readers that this won’t “turn into a middle-aged Harlequin country romance.”

“That water is too hot for any of that. We may be naked, but we usually just sit in the sky water, look at the smog-free sky, talk about our hopes, dreams, worries and fears… and laugh at the dogs,” she joked. .

Her Basset Hounds are confused because “they’ve never seen one [Ladd] shirtless,” Ree reveals of her rancher husband.

During the renovations, Ree and Ladd thought they would like to have a pool. But because of the maintenance—which Ladd’s mom warned them about—and the fact that they’ve been swimming together “about zero times” since they got married—they opted for a hot tub instead.

“The ghost of Nana’s old pool luckily spoke into our ears from the backyard just before the backhoe broke in last summer, and we thank our lucky stars we dodged that bullet,” Ree wrote.

Their new home, located on the same Pawhuska, Okla., ranch where she raised her children, will be the scene of Drummond’s Christmas this year. Ree said she was so excited to host Christmas that she started setting up her holiday table six weeks early.

She’s making room for all her kids as she “looks forward to all the kids coming home for the holidays.” Daughters Alex (26) and Paige (23) will be at the ranch. Plus, sons Bryce, 21, and Todd, 19, and adopted son Jamar Goff, 21, are coming home from college for the holidays.

This Christmas is Ree and Ladd’s first since becoming empty nesters, and the Food Network star is proud of how she made it through the year without children living at home.

As Todd got ready to go to school, Ree recalled that she was “very nervous.” She continued, “Yet here we are, Ladd and I, with almost a year of empty nesting under our belts, and we’re still living and breathing (and eating!)”
