The stars aligned to celebrate Rob Lowe!

The actor celebrated his 60th birthday with an A-list party in Santa Barbara, California on Saturday night.

Among those who attended the event were Robert Downey Jr. — fresh off his Oscar win — Zoe Saldaña, Amy Poehler, Kevin Costner and Jennifer Aniston, plus Gwyneth Paltrow, who attended with husband Brad Falchuck.

Other couples who similarly turned the party into a date night included Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom, Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi, and Adam Levine and Behati Prinsloo. Cameron Diaz and Benji Madden also attended the party, a day after announcing the arrival of their second baby, son Cardinal.

Lowe’s wife, Sheryl Berkoff, and their two sons, John Owen and Mathew, also partied with the actor and his celebrity friends over the weekend.

Earlier this month, Lowe exclusively revealed to PEOPLE his mindset about aging ahead of his 60th birthday. The 9-1-1: Lone Star the actor admitted he had “never felt better” approaching his golden years.

“Fortunately, I had a little time to prepare,” he said. “I love milestone birthdays because they’re really an opportunity to think about where you want to go.”

“I’m so humbled and thankful that I’ve never had more interesting things happen in my life. I’ve never felt better. My relationships and every level, I’m in the pocket and that’s exactly how I want to go into the next decade ” Lowe added.

Looking ahead to what he has to look forward to in his later years, Parks and recreation the alum said “there’s a lot.”

“I feel like I’m starting a whole new chapter in my life,” Lowe explained.

He added: “I’ll follow anything that satisfies my curiosity, where I can learn and where I can have some impact, whether it’s movies, TV, podcasts, books, business marketing, I’m all for it.”

Last month, Lowe told PEOPLE that he changed his lifestyle to stay in top shape.

“I feel better than ever. And I think that’s partly because I’m more aware of taking care of myself. I’m as strong as I’ve ever been,” he explained. “I remember being intimidated when I turned 40. I remember being intimidated when I turned 50, and this is no different. And just like those milestones, the closer I get, the better I feel.”

As for his goals for his 60s, Lowe said he would like to remain active and injury-free.

“The challenge for me is a day off means a day off, but I want to keep doing things,” West wing said the actor.

“I really have to force myself to say, ‘No, no, this is a day when it’s okay to sit on the couch and watch football.’ I love a good sauna, I love a cold bath, and I’ve reacquainted myself with the value of a long walk that I used to think was a waste of time, but now I know otherwise,” he added.
