After working there for six months, he started working at Dell Computer Corporation as a technical support assistant. In an interview, talking about working at the company, he said:
It all started when I joined Spicejet as a ground handler and somehow I found that place was not a good fit for me as it had a lot of limitations and then I started working at Dell as a technical support assistant. They gave me a graveyard shift of 12:00pm and I found I didn’t fit in there. I know nothing. I wanted to achieve more, so I moved to the city of dreams, Mumbai. “
After leaving Dell Computer, he began working at financial services company HSBC.

The first runner-up in the beauty pageant was Rahul Rajasekharan Nair and Prateek Gujral was the second runner-up. In the beauty pageant’s sub-competition, Rohit won the Best Actor Award for Stay-On Mr Active and Provogue Personal Care.

- When he was in school, he used to be an introvert. In an interview, he revealed that he was even bullied at school. He said,
I feel like this is my second life and my parents would agree. I don’t even remember having a friend in school. I didn’t even have a memorable day at school. I hate school so much. I failed five of my past eight subjects. I got bullied a lot in school and maybe all that frustration piled up and I started working on myself. I felt abandoned and not good enough. So, I don’t remember anything from my student days, college life was great. Studying went well, I made a lot of friends and started participating in dance competitions. “
- He moved to Mumbai from Hyderabad to pursue an MBA and try his luck in showbiz. However, instead of enrolling in an MBA, he began auditioning for various acting projects. During the initial years of his struggle in Mumbai, he faced various financial difficulties. In an interview, recalling those days, he said:
I had a lot of failures during my three years in Mumbai and I was trying so hard to get into serials but I was not even paid. I had never done a big shoot, I literally sat idle for 2-3 months, didn’t get any work, I had no funds. I lived in a 2 bhk with 5 people and for a while I also traveled by bus but I never gave up. I have a gut feeling that hard work pays off in our lives. “
- While he was working at the company, he gained a lot of weight. Before venturing into showbiz, he lost about 15 kilograms to get back in shape; earlier he weighed around 85 kilograms. In an interview, he revealed that he auditioned for a TV commercial for a beauty cream despite being overweight. However, he was rejected in the audition and the producers said Rohit was not as handsome as the TV commercials required.
