At 12:55pm the press were informed that Hodgson would not be attending his usual press conference after falling ill earlier today.
Palace then confirmed on social media: “Unfortunately today’s press conference will no longer take place as scheduled due to Roy Hodgson falling ill during training this morning.”
Hodgson’s long-time assistant Ray Lewington left Palace’s training ground at 1.30pm.
Asked about his boss’ condition, Lewington, 67, said: “Roy is fine.”
Crystal Palace confirmed that Hogdson is in a “stable” condition and is “undergoing tests” in hospital.
A club statement read: “Following the news that Roy Hodgson was taken ill during training today, we can confirm that he is now stable and currently undergoing tests in hospital.
“Everyone at the club sends their best wishes to Roy for a speedy recovery.”
The Telegraph added that the former England manager was “talking to friends and doctors”.
The report adds that he will not be on the pitch against Everton on Monday night.
Hodgson missed the September trip to Aston Villa due to illness.
Chelsea fans come up with ‘the call we need’ during bizarre delay as Crystal Palace’s decision backfires horribly
That day, former Palace defender Paddy McCarthy took over the team with the help of Lewington.
Palace players will be free tomorrow.
Hodgson has been under increasing pressure in recent weeks.
Palace have endured a run of just two wins in their last 15 games in all competitions.
Hodgson’s side squandered a 1-0 lead to lose 3-1 at home to Chelsea on Monday night.
The Eagles have been hit by injuries to key men, with Michael Olise, Eberechi Eze and Marc Guehi missing the game against the Blues.
It is claimed that Palace sporting director Dougie Freedman has made contact with former Eintracht Frankfurt boss Oliver Glasner about replacing Hodgson at Selhurst Park.
Glasner (49) has been out of work since leaving Eintracht at the end of last season.
Palace have also shown an interest in Ipswich boss Kieran McKenna.
But the Northern Irishman, 37, is believed to be reluctant to leave Ipswich as they fight for their second successive promotion.
Hodgson has recently been criticized by fans for his handling of Olise’s hamstring injury.
With the winger, 22, deemed only fit enough to make the bench, Hodgson brought him on with his side trailing Brighton 3-0 at half-time.
Olise limped off just 11 minutes later and is now set to be out for two months.
Defending his decisions during the 4-1 defeat, Hodgson said last week: “It’s more about the fact that when there was a chance that he could be available, actually everyone came together and decided that maybe he could be available.
“But we have to start him on the bench, maybe only in the second half, we’ve all been there.
“Then I guess we were blindly moving forward, but it’s not easy when you have a player like Olise on the bench to turn around and say ‘by the way, just sit and watch the game because we don’t need you’.
“It’s not that easy and there was no indication from us that he was happy to do it, but of course Michael is a quiet guy so that’s the other unfortunate part of this whole equation.
“Maybe another player came and said ‘I don’t think it’s worth it, I don’t think I should continue, I’d rather have a bit more time’ – but we can’t expect that from him.
“It’s not fair to expect that from him, he just goes along with what he thinks the whole club thinks so it’s been a perfect storm in every way.”
Palace are 15th in the Premier League table, five points above the relegation zone.
