Ruby Tandoh and her wife Leah Pritchard have been married since September 2018. The couple met on Tinder and went public with their relationship in 2015. They confirmed their engagement on social media two years later in January 2017. The former Great Britain Bake Off contestant and her musician husband married in a low-key ceremony in Sheffield before a party with family and friends at the Abbeydale Picturehouse, a disused cinema. The baker was seen on the big day wearing a demure white lace cream kaftan-style dress with pink open-toe shoes and holding a small sprig of white flowers.
Meanwhile, her husband, who is a member of the band Alimony Hustle, was dressed in an electric blue suit, light printed shirt and brown brogues. Tandoh changed into a short sequined dress for the reception, and she and Pritchard were greeted by a cool lightbox announcement of their wedding.

In 2015, the chef and author of the cookbook went public on Twitter. She revealed her sexual orientation with the words: “Today I to my parents”, accompanied by a video of Diana Ross’ song “I’m Coming Out”. “I feel happy, joyful and free. over and out,” she said. Her statement came just a few months after she started seeing her boyfriend.
When asked how she found her sexual identity, the chef said that she used to date men, but felt the need to explore and understand another aspect of herself. She went on a few dates and, luckily for her, soon met Pritchard. In an interview with Grazia in August 2016, Tandoh said that her wife urged her to go out. She added that the author spent a lot of time alone before they met and was shocked at how easily she found someone new in her “island existence”. She further said that they are in it for the long haul and that marriage and children are not top priorities; instead, they wanted to get a dog and buy their first house. However, in a February 2018 op-ed for the online journal The I, she announced that she and her boyfriend plan to adopt a child in the next few years.
Ruby Tandoh calls out misogynists
Tandoh came under fire from misogynists after revealing he was bisexual. At the time, the author was the target of criticism for allegedly flirting with the show’s judge Paul Hollywood during her presence on the program. She told the Guardian that she was fed up with defending herself against the accusations. She said the baker was old enough to be her father and would rather eat a leg than flirt to victory. She further said that these remarks were a disrespect for the judges and their professional integrity. However, when she came out, the baker claimed that it helped her to respond to people who judged her on the programme. “PS for those who believed I was rooting for Paul Hollywood’s success. “The joke’s on you, you colossal misogynists,” remarked Tandoh.
