Sabrina Carpenter and Barry Keoghan’s Relationship Is ‘On and Off’ (Exclusive Source)

Sabrina Carpenter and Barry Keoghan keep it casual.

Amid rumors of their split, a source tells PEOPLE exclusively that the relationship between Carpenter, 25, and Keoghan, 31, has been “on and off.”

On Friday, August 16, Keoghan also appeared to respond to break-up rumors by liking the “Please Please Please” singer’s flirty Instagram post, which showed her posing in baby blue underwear.

PEOPLE has reached out to reps for Carpenter and Keoghan for comment.

Meanwhile, Carpenter alluded to their undefined relationship in a June interview Rolling Stone. When asked if she calls the actor her boyfriend, she replied: “How do I get around this question?”

She continued, “The [dating] a pool is a pool, and when you meet people who feel authentic and are so brilliant and amazing in every way, that’s what you do. Obviously, I write songs about exactly how I feel, so I guess I can’t be that surprised that people are interested in who and what these songs are about. It’s something that comes with the territory.”

Sabrina Carpenter calls Barry Keoghan ‘one of the best actors of this generation’: ‘I don’t want to sound biased’

Carpenter and Keoghan first sparked romance rumors after a dinner in Los Angeles in December 2023 after reportedly meeting during Paris Fashion Week two months prior.

In February, the couple made their first public appearance at the Grammy afterparty. Although they posed separately on the red carpet, they were seen chilling together inside the event and hosting the party W Magazine later shared their photo together.

The two confirmed their relationship a few days later when they were seen kissing after leaving the Bel-Air Hotel in Los Angeles.

While the two prefer to keep their relationship a secret, The Saltburn the actor played the love interest in Carpenter’s “Please Please Please” music video that premiered in June.

Carpenter heaped praise on his performance, describing him as “one of the best actors of this generation”.
