Salma Hayek spoke about her friendship with Angelina Jolie.
In an interview at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) this week, Hayek, 57, was asked what she likes most about her relationship with Jolie, 48.
“Everything,” Hayek — who was at TIFF for a screening of a film she produced, El Sabor de la Navidad – said Entertainment Tonight on Wednesday. “She has enriched my life greatly, greatly, in so many ways – as a mother, you know. Most of all, as an artist.”
The actress also told the magazine that she and Jolie became “closer and closer” over time. “And that’s just natural. It’s just something that flows,” Hayek added.

Back in August 2022, the actress opened up to PEOPLE about the filming No Blood with Jolie, describing her as “the best director” she’s ever worked with. The upcoming film stars Hayek and was directed by Jolie, and is based on Alessandro Barric’s 2002 novel.
Calling Unbroken director “probably the best director I’ve ever worked with,” Hayek added to PEOPLE, “and I’ve worked with some pretty good ones.”
“I’ve always loved her as a director, but I think this might be her best or one of her best,” the star said.
Hayek also shared with PEOPLE that the film was “tough” but “a joy” as she continued to praise Jolie. “It was a difficult film to make. And then somehow it was a pleasure to suffer so much [because]…she was shockingly good,” she said at the time.

The two actresses also starred together in the 2021 Marvel film Eternals. Jolie played Thena, while Hayek played Ajak.
On Sept. 2, Hayek — who documented various tropical jaunts on social media over the summer — celebrated her 57th birthday and shared a carousel of photos on Instagram in honor of her special day.
The Frida the star wore a red bikini and a light beige hat on the beach, and was also photographed sitting in the sand and swimming in the water.
“I am so blessed to be alive and so deeply grateful for all the blessings!!!!” Hayek’s cover read.
“My beloved family, my precious friends, my health, my work that sustains me, my empowering team, my relationship with animals and nature and the love of all my loyal fans. ”
“Happy 57th birthday to me!!! 🎉”, she added.
