Salman Mohammed Al-Faraj was born on August 1, 1989 in Medina, Saudi Arabia. Regarding his nationality, he is a Saudi citizen.

Career
- Salman Al-Faraj started his career in 2004 at the Al-youth Hilal academy. He was a member of the youth team for about four years. He was promoted to the senior team in 2008 and helped his team win the Saudi Super Cup in 2015. He made 113 appearances and scored six goals.
- Al-Faraj was part of the team that won the Saudi Professional League (2010, 2011 and 2017), the 2015 Champions Cup and the Saudi Crown Prince Cup (2012, 2013, 2016). He had a contract with the club until June 30, 2021, and it was subsequently extended.
- Salman Al-Faraj earned his first Saudi Arabia U23 cap, appearing in two games and scoring one goal. On 14 October 2012, he made his career debut in a 3–2 friendly win against Congo at the Prince Abdullah bin Jalawi Stadium in Al Hasa, Saudi Arabia. During the 2018 FIFA World Cup, he scored his first international goal on 3 September 2015 in a 4–0 win against East Timor.
- Similarly, on 7 October 2017, Al-Faraj scored his second international goal in a 3–2 win against Jamaica in an international friendly at the King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
- He just scored the winning goal against Algeria in a friendly match on 9 May 2018. He has amassed 68 caps for his country, scoring eight goals.
- Al-Faraj, along with Abdullah Otayf, Taisir Al-Jassim and Mohamed Kanno, was selected in the 23-man squad for the World Cup in Russia in the summer of 2018. He played for his country in World Cup qualifiers, international friendlies and the AFC Asian Cup .
