SAM Thompson and Zara McDermott’s relationship “never recovered” after she cheated on him, it has been revealed.
Former Love Island star Zara, 28, previously admitted she had a relationship with music director Brahim Fourad while taking part in The X Factor: Celebrity 2019.

It was revealed yesterday that she and Sam, 32, had split after five years, with insiders insisting his family – particularly sister Louise, 34 – had struggled to forgive Zara for her infidelity.
A source said: “Zara and Sam’s relationship never looked like it was going to last.
“They never really recovered from Zara’s cheating, most couples would struggle to last as long as they did afterwards.”
The insider added to MailOnline: “Zara has had quite a bit of reconciliation, especially with Louise, she really wasn’t happy when Sam took her back.
“But she managed to make it work and they had a nice time together again, but it seemed like it was never really going to be serious.”
Following the shock split, fans speculated that Zara dropped a big hint a few days ago – but no one noticed.
Looking back to 2024, Zara posted a montage of clips and photos from that year on Instagram.
Although Sam was seen in the post, fans noticed that he was not mentioned in Zara’s lengthy description.
She shared the highlights of the year – including filming her documentaries, joining the Morning Live presenting team and starting a new business – but her Made in Chelsea star ex-boyfriend didn’t make the cut.
In the comment, one fan wrote: “So no Sam this year?”

On New Year’s Day, MailOnline reported that Sam and Zara had split, with a source claiming that their busy schedules had forced them apart.
An insider said: “Sam and Zara have ended their relationship. It was an incredibly difficult decision for them to part ways, they still care and love each other.
“But after a hard year of hard work on their romance, they have split and will focus on their individual careers until 2025.”
