Sara Foster Says Backstreet Boys Were 'So Respectful' When She Starred in Their 'Shape of My Heart' Music Video

Unfortunately, a spot in a Backstreet Boys music video doesn’t seem to be enough to make someone the next Alicia Silverstone — but for Sara Foster, it’s a memory she still looks back on fondly.

In the episode of October 29 Watch what’s happening live with Andy Cohen, the actress and former model (43) told what it was like to work with the famous boy band in 2000.

“The audition process — you’d think I was auditioning for [Martin] A Scorsese film. I auditioned 70,000 times,” she told Cohen, referring to her time in the “Shape of My Heart” music video. “It was so crazy.”

Foster admitted she was a little disappointed that her role didn’t catapult her to the same fame as Silverstone and other similar icons of the early 2000s, but she had nothing but positive things to say about the five members of the group.

“They were so nice, but I think because of my dad, they were all very respectful,” Foster said, referring to her father, record producer and film composer David Foster. “I said, ‘No, you don’t need to be respected. Like it’s good.’ ”

The same year “Shape of My Heart” was released, most of the group’s members, namely Brian Littrell, Howie Dorough and Kevin Richardson, were married or dating.

Richardson was the first to leave the group in 2006, deciding to start a family with his wife, Kristin. The Backstreet Boys continued to make music after Richardson’s departure, releasing “Unbreakable” in 2007 and “This Is Us” in 2009 before he returned in 2011.

Although the members of the group have taken on various other commitments to further their solo careers, they continue to reunite for Backstreet Boys projects. The group released their first Christmas album in 2022, and celebrated their 30th anniversary in 2023.
