Salabot said in an interview that when he was 13 years old, he wanted to be a football player, but one day during summer camp, he saw some kids aiming pistols at paper targets. The scene left a deep impression on him and he decided to continue filming. At the time, he told his father he wanted to be a shooter. After that, he started his journey to become a shooter. After winning a silver medal in his first regional level competition, he started training professionally under coach Abhishek Rana.
In December 2022, Sarabjot bagged a double gold medal in the team event of the 65th National Shooting Championship held at MP Shooting Academy, Bhopal.
In March 2023, Sarabchot, who won the team and mixed team championships at the 2021 World Youth Championship, defeated Azerbaijan’s Ruslan Lunev 16-0 in the first final of the World Cup and won the gold medal. During the competition, 21-year-old Sarabjot performed exceptionally well and became the top scorer after the qualifying round with 585 points. After the ranking match, Sarabjot ranked first with 253.2 points, followed by Ruslan with 251.9 points. Both men entered the gold medal match with high confidence. Meanwhile, Varun won the bronze medal with 250.3 points.
In August 2023, at the ISSF World Championship held in Baku, Azerbaijan, the Indian men’s team consisting of Sarabjot Singh, Shiva Narwal and Arjun Singh Cheema scored a total score of 1734 points in the final and won the third place in the ISSF World Championship. Among the three, Sarabjot Singh scored 578 points.

- According to Sarabhot, his father disapproved of him pursuing a shooting career because it was expensive. But after Sarabjot’s repeated requests, his father agreed to help him in some way.
- Abhishek Rana is Sarabjot Singh’s coach and he has been training Sarabjot Singh since 2016. They met when Sarabjot won a silver medal in her first district championship.
- During an event in Kallio, Sarabjot’s mental and physical health was not entirely fine. He had to work regularly, contact a psychologist, and do a lot of meditation to improve his concentration.
