Sujoy Ghosh is an Indian film producer and actor known for producing several Bollywood films. He is considered one of the most unconventional filmmakers in Bollywood.

Sujoy Ghosh was born on Saturday, May 21, 1966, in Bhowanipore, Kolkata, West Bengal, India (57 years old as of 2023). His zodiac sign is Gemini. He was initially educated at St. James School in Calcutta. At the age of 13, he moved to London, England, where he continued his education at Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College. From 1986 to 1989, he studied for a BSc in Computer Science at the University of Manchester. From 1990 to 1992, he studied for an MBA at Alliance Business School in Manchester. In 2003, he made his debut as a director and screenwriter with the critically acclaimed film Jhankaar Beats, starring Juhi Chawla and Sanjay Suri. In January 2005, he started his own production company called Boundscript Motion Pictures Private Limited. His debut film as a producer was Aladdin in 2009, starring Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt and Riteish Deshmukh Starring. - He is known for innovative promotional campaigns for his films. In 2019, he gave commentary in Bengali on Star Jalsa channel along with Tapsee Pannu to promote his film Badla.
- Sujoy was an avid reader of stories from his childhood, especially those of Swapan Kumar, Nihar Ranjan Gupta, Hemendra Kumar Roy Hemendra Kumar Roy, Shirshendu Mukhopadhyay, Buddhadeb Guha, Sunil Ganguly and Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay.
- In an interview, Sujoy revealed that his maternal grandfather was from Nepal and came to Kolkata after being named as an accused in the murder case. Later he became a rich man’s driver and eloped with another rich man’s daughter.
- Before becoming a film producer in 1999, he worked for Reuters and earned around Rs 50 lakh a year, which was a huge sum at the time.
