The Lionesses came closest to scoring when Lauren Hemp hit the crossbar with a curling attempt in the 16th minute, but Spain deserved the win as they became the fifth country to win the Women’s World Cup, joining USA (4), Germany (2). ), Norway (1) and Japan (1).
