Savannah Chrisley reflects on how her boyfriend Robert Shiver showed his support for her mother Julie ahead of her appeal hearing in September.
During a conversation with Shriver about her latest episode Unlocked podcast, the Chrisley knows best The alum, 27, shared: “What a lot of people don’t know is that in preparation for that appeal hearing, obviously we had to write – we didn’t have to – but, I wrote a letter to the judge, Grayson. did, a few of mom and dad’s friends, just to support her indulgence and so on.”
“And you wrote a letter,” Shiver said, adding, “I don’t think I’ve read this since you read it to me the other night. I think my whole purpose in reading this is just to show that person who you are and how you show yourself.”

Savannah Chrisley says brother Grayson and niece Chloe ‘weakened’ by ‘depression’ amid parents’ jail
The reality star went on to read a letter Shiver sent to Judge Eleanor L. Ross ahead of the hearing, during which Julie resentenced the same 84 months in prison as before.
“Dear Judge Eleanor Ross – well, he said honorably, but I’ll leave it out – dear Judge Eleanor Ross, I hope this letter finds you well,” the letter began. “I am writing this on behalf of Julie Chrisley and the Chrisley family.”
In the letter, Shiver said he was “lucky enough” to meet Savannah and her siblings Grayson and Chloe over the past year, adding, “I have seen firsthand the impact Julie’s ruling has had on all three of them. I would like to take a moment to I share with you what my experience has been in trying to find it in your heart and in the law to allow Julie’s sentence to be reduced.”
He then described the problems Chloe — the biological daughter of Todd’s estranged son Kyle — faced amid Todd and Julie’s ongoing prison terms after the couple adopted her in 2016. He wrote: “First, I’d like to talk about Chloe Chrisley. As you may know, Chloe’s biological mother and father no longer exist in her life, and she views Todd and Julie as her mother and father.”

Savannah Chrisley says boyfriend Robert Shiver introduced her to his kids as a ‘friend’ before things progressed
“Chloe, 11, was exposed to a lot from the moment she was born and Julie really took her in and raised her, which I believe shows that Julie always did whatever it took to give her children or grandchildren the best possible support she could. needed.” he continued. “Chloe is a very lively young girl who makes friends easily and is very energetic and just recently joined her high school cheerleading squad. One of the challenges she faces at school is the constant bullying that happens due to kids talking loudly about her parents’ situation. I know that abuse can take its toll on individuals over time and I believe that if Julie was allowed to return home to raise Chloe, you would see a new man with such a bright future that is now overshadowed by circumstances.”
“Every event, school program, or sleepover feels a little empty right now because they can’t look into the stands and see that warm smile or get a big congratulations after their successes, and that makes a child feel valued and that the work they do investing is recognized and rewarded from parents.”
He explained that Grayson is “someone I’ve grown so close to over the last year.”
“I see him as a younger brother or an older son,” Shiver wrote. “I believe he would tell you that he looks up to me as a role model and an example of what he would like to be as he continues to grow. Grayson also has his own sense of emptiness as he goes through his senior year.”
Savannah’s boyfriend reflected on the moments Julie missed while behind bars, writing, “Julie didn’t get to see any kind of baseball games or college acceptance letters, prom dates. She has missed them for the last two years, so Savannah and I made it a priority to be there for him.”

Savannah Chrisley’s boyfriend Robert Shiver met her mum Julie and they ‘get along great’ but dad Todd ‘wasn’t so open’
“I talk to Grayson almost every day. I do my best to support him, encourage him and see him through life’s challenges,” he added. “This kid has so much potential as he continues to mature and grow. But in his heart, he wants his mother. Mom is his best friend.”
“The way he talks to me about her and how she has never missed a game or school program, not even a school drop-off or pick-up, tells me how much she means to him, and how much he means to her. They cherish each other and re-establishing that relationship with a new appreciation for life and second chances would mean the world to both of them.”
As for Savannah, Shiver wrote that she “grew up in front of everyone” when she became the legal guardian of her siblings while her parents served time in prison. He shared, “As an older sister, becoming a mother, father and financial provider for her two siblings overnight is something that most people would a, never accept, and, b, even begin to realize what she has.”

He noted that Savannah had “sacrificed” for his siblings, saying, “Her life has been put on hold for the last 2 years because that’s the way this family loves. They love strongly and they love deeply. They are fighters and she is at the forefront of that.”
He noted that she provided her siblings with access to “therapy, education, food, shelter and all the things for a situation that was completely out of her control.”
After writing that Savannah had learned “the little things in life and to better understand people with challenges and struggles,” he added, “I don’t think there’s a single individual on this planet who could step in and stop better than she did .”
“She has shown selfless love better than anyone I have ever seen before, and I pray that she will get her life back if Julie allows her to come home,” he continued. “I had the opportunity to visit Julie once in prison, once in Kentucky, and I often talk to her when she calls. I can tell you firsthand that Julie loves her children more than anything in the world.”
Shiver then explained that Julie calls “daily,” writing, “I’ve heard her laugh, cry, fight and help others. Her heart is as big as they come, and she wants to come home to be present with her children.”

Calling returning home Julie’s “number one priority,” he wrote: “I hope you find the strength to look at the real evidence and that little Julie part of what she had to give her by serving time.” By doing this, you can change the lives of four people, Julie, Savannah, Grayson and Chloe.”
He continued: “These four people can make such a positive impact on so many people’s lives if they could have the ability to first recover whole and then pass on their experience to others, which is something I know they will do.”
“You can bring a family back together to change lives. Our greatest calling is not our name or what we do. It’s the impact we have on people. Julie Chrisley can make a positive impact on today’s society.”
He concluded the letter by pleading with the judge to reduce Julie’s sentence and allow her to return home to her children.
“With her back in the picture, children grow up much more complete. They will still have unexpected challenges in life, as we all do,” he said. “But being able to get through them with the love and support of Julie at home or a phone call away makes those challenges easier to overcome.”
“Ultimately, I want to see the positive impact they can have on society become a reality as soon as possible,” he added. “I believe that when you look at the facts of the case as it relates to Julie, you will find it in your heart and in law to make the decision that Julie and this family can be reunited in the very near future.”

Before receiving reduced sentences in 2023, Julie was sentenced to seven years in prison in November 2022, while her 55-year-old husband Todd received a 12-year sentence for fraud and tax evasion. They have continued to appeal their cases since they reported to their prisons in January 2023.
Although the family did not get the result they had hoped for, Julien’s appeal was granted in April 2024 and her seven-year sentence was overturned a few months later due to lack of evidence. At that time, Todd’s sentence was upheld.
