Before entering the singing industry, Sawai was a puppeteer who used to perform puppet shows with his parents all over Rajasthan to earn an income. As he grew older, he developed a strong interest in music and began to perform some traditional Rajasthani songs on the streets and managed to make some money.
Sawai Bhatt first came to the limelight when he participated in Sony Entertainment’s singing reality show Indian Idol Season 12. During the audition round, he sang the folk song “Keshariya Balam Aao Mere Desh” in front of judges Neha Kakkar, Vishal Dadlani and Himesh Reshammiya, wowed everyone and won the golden ticket to advance to the next round.

- Sawai Bhatt auditioned for the singing show Indian Idol 10 on the encouragement of his friends but unfortunately, he was not selected at that time. But he did not give up hope and auditioned for Indian Idol 12 where he mesmerized the judges with his singing abilities.
