Saweetie and P-Lo show hometown pride.
The two Northern California rappers have joined forces on the brand new San Francisco 49ers anthem “Do It for the Bay,” which was released Friday along with a music video, all created in collaboration with the NFL team.
A high-energy hip-hop song, “Do It for the Bay” finds Saweetie, 30, and P-Lo, 32, rapping lyrics about their love and devotion to the football team, referencing its signature red and gold colors, as well as the California State of the bay.

“Dance, dance / We just passed through the end zone again / ‘What do we stand on’?” — Real big business / City of the dubs, you know we stay winnin’,” both artists rap on the song before the chorus, which contains simple lines: “OK, OK, OK, OK / Do it for the Bay. ”
In the song’s music video, both artists rock 49ers merchandise and perform “Do It for the Bay” while footage of the team’s games is interspersed throughout the clip. P-Lo pays tribute to San Francisco’s Levi’s Stadium wearing head-to-toe Levi’s provided by the brand.
Saweetie expressed his delight at the partnership and mentioned the 49ers’ loyal fan base in a statement. “I’m excited to share our new 49ers single designed to pump up the team and The Faithful for these playoffs! I want to thank the 49ers organization for this opportunity,” she said.

The Grammy-nominated “Tap In” singer continued, “Kudos to P-Lo for doing what he does. I love that we were able to collaborate and make something that’s so Bay-triotic, as P-Lo would say.”
P-Lo echoed her thoughts in a statement of his own. “Many thanks to the 49ers for their commitment to connecting Bay Area sports and culture,” he said. “I’ve been wanting to release music with Saweetie, and since we’re both die-hard 49ers fans, this is a great opportunity to come together and show some pride for The Bay.”
49ers Senior Director of Brand Marketing Allie Dicken thanked the two artists in a statement: “We are grateful to legendary Bay Area artists and 49ers Faithful, Saweetie and P-Lo, for creating a song that celebrates our team and gives The Faithful a new song for their soundtrack for game day.”

Dicken continued, “We’re fortunate to be in a region that thrives on talent, diversity and innovation, and we’re excited that Saweetie and P-Lo have been able to capture those values in this new anthem for The Bay.”
It’s likely that “Do It for the Bay” will be playing over the speakers at Levi’s Stadium very soon, as the 49ers take on the Green Bay Packers at home on Saturday.
