Scarlett Johansson Reacts to Colin Jost's Extremely Dirty Jokes About Her on This Week's SNL: 'Oh My God'

Colin Jost may have some explaining to do to wife Scarlett Johansson after the latest episode Saturday night live.

In the show’s winter finale on Saturday, Dec. 21, Jost, 42, and Weekend Update co-host Michael Che were forced to read jokes they’d never seen before — per the show’s biennial tradition. The prompts are designed to land comedians in hot water, and this year was no exception — especially when it came to jokes about Johansson, 40.

The actress, who appeared in the show’s opening monologue, watched the Weekend Update segment in real time with a camera pointed at her face to record her reactions as Jost began nervously reading his cue cards.

“Hey boo, you all know Scarlett just celebrated her 40th birthday,” Jost said, already looking worried about what was to come. “Which means I’m about to get out of there!”

“No, no. I’m just playing,” he continued. “We just had a baby together and you haven’t seen pictures of him yet because he’s black as hell.”

The camera then panned to Johansson, who shook her head and grimaced.

Later in the segment, Jost announced that “Costco took their roast beef sandwich off their menu,” adding, “But I’m not tripping, I’ve been eating roast beef every night since my wife had a baby” — before dropping his face into hands in apparent terror. Johansson looked shocked, saying, “Oh my God,” from backstage.

This isn’t the first time Jost has been forced to poke fun at his relationship for the sake of the show. During the season 49 finale in May, Jost looked into the camera during a Weekend Update segment and said, “ChatGPT has released a new voice assistant feature inspired by Scarlett Johansson’s AI character in her. Which I never bothered to watch, because without that body, what’s the point of listening.”

The joke referred to a high-profile dispute between the actress and OpenAI, which resulted in Johansson’s threat of a lawsuit against the company.

Johansson and Jost have been romantically linked since 2017 — although they first met in 2006 when Jost was a young writer on SNL and The Avengers star hosted the episode.

The couple got married in October 2020 after three years of dating. They had a son, Cosmo (3), in 2021. Johansson is also the mother of Rose Dorothy (10) from her previous marriage.
