Haryana School Closed News
Schools Closed in Haryana: Rajasthan Legislative Assembly General Elections are scheduled for 25 November 2023. Due to this, Haryana Government has announced paid holiday/special casual leave in all offices, educational and other institutions of the State Government. Employees, students and others can get in touch with the competent institutions in case of any ambiguities.
The official notification reads: “This is to inform you that on 25.11.2023 (Saturday) the day of polling for the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly General Election, 2023 shall be treated as holiday with pay/special casual leave (with pay) in all offices, educational and other institutes of the Government of Haryana, Boards and Corporations under Section 25 of the Contractual Instruments Act, 1881 and under Section 135-B of the Representation of the People Act, 1951 (Amended 8/1996).”

Why are schools closed in Haryana?
Schools, offices and other institutions in Haryana have been declared closed for only those employees who are registered as voters in Rajasthan to vote in the said general elections.
Holiday announced for factories, shops and private facilities
Apart from school holiday in Haryana, employees in shops, factories and private establishments (situated in Haryana) who are registered as voters in Rajasthan can also get a day off with pay under section 135-B of the Representation of the People Act, 1951 (Amended 8/1996 ) for a similar purpose.
Schools in Telangana are likely to be closed on November 29 and 30
Meanwhile, government schools in Telangana are also likely to remain closed on November 29 and 30, 2023. However, an official announcement is still awaited. The Electoral Commission can order the closure of schools before the election, declaring a 2-day holiday.
