Charges against Brendan Paul, Sean “Diddy” Combs’ alleged drug mule, have been dropped.
Paul’s attorney, Brian Bieber, confirmed to PEOPLE on Tuesday, Dec. 17, “Mr. Paul’s case was officially dismissed today — in its entirety.” Paul previously took a plea deal in May after being arrested in March for possession of cocaine and marijuana.
“Brendan has accepted the prosecutor’s offer to be allowed to enter a diversion program that, upon completion, will have the case against him dismissed in its entirety,” Bieber said at the time in a statement obtained by PEOPLE. Bail was set at $2,500, and he was released on March 26.
Bieber confirmed on Tuesday that “Mr. Paul completed the pre-trial program.”
In April, Paul was also charged with felony possession of cocaine amid anti-trafficking charges against Diddy, 55.

Timeline of Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ sexual assault allegations and arrest
Paul, who previously played basketball at Syracuse University, entered a not guilty plea through his attorney in April.
Combs’ former producer and videographer Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones alleged in the lawsuit that Diddy “sexually harassed, drugged and threatened him” for more than a year. He also claimed that he was Paul Combs’ “mule,” who “procured” and “distributed” “drugs and weapons” for the rapper.

The dismissal of Paul’s charges is the latest chapter in the saga of Diddy’s alleged federal sex crimes. Diddy’s homes in Miami and Los Angeles were raided in March amid allegations of sex trafficking.
Diddy was arrested at a Manhattan hotel and charged with sex trafficking, racketeering and transportation for prostitution, according to an indictment obtained by PEOPLE in September.
“Between 2008 and the present, Combs abused, threatened, and coerced women and others, and ran a racketeering conspiracy that included sex trafficking, forced labor, kidnapping, arson, bribery, and obstruction of justice, among other crimes,” the press release press release from the US Attorney’s Office, Southern District of New York.
Since then, he has been behind bars at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn.

Diddy denied all the allegations against him in a public statement they shared in December 2023, which PEOPLE obtained at the time. “ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. “For the past few weeks, I’ve sat in silence and watched people try to kill my character, destroy my reputation and my legacy,” he said.
“Individuals looking for a quick payday have made sickening allegations against me,” Diddy added.
The disgraced rapper has been denied bail three times and will remain in jail until his trial begins in May 2025. If convicted, Diddy could face decades in prison.
