The incident follows the December arrest of Tiffany Krystine Ebron, 29, who was charged with one count of misdemeanor assault on a child under 12, one count of misdemeanor assault on a disabled person and one count of misdemeanor child abuse, according to court documents reviewed by PEOPLE. Ebron was employed as a special programs assistant at East Garner Elementary School. Garner is also part of Wake County, NC
The charges stem from an alleged incident on November 14, 2024, in which Ebron allegedly picked up a special needs child “by the legs, resulting in the child hitting the back of the head on the floor.” She allegedly dragged an unidentified 9-year-old child by the legs on the floor.
The arrest warrant states that Ebron allegedly committed the act “unlawfully and intentionally” while she was a “person providing care and supervision.”
“Since the inflicted physical injury, the child had problems in the head and [that] he had carpet burns on his stomach and hands, and they were not caused by accident,” the document states.
