Meryl Streep is a leader on set – and Selena Gomez can attest to that.
Since Streep, 75, joined Just the murders in the building last year, Gomez, 32, was vocal about what it was like working with such an iconic star — even going so far as to admit that she “barely spoke” on Streep’s first day on set.
Now she is thinking about another unforgettable moment with the actress, whose professionalism she told ELLE was inspiring.
“I remember being on set with Meryl Streep, trying to shoot her side so she could go home and have the next day off. Towards the end of the day, she said, ‘Wait, no, why don’t we turn around?’ And they said, ‘Oh, we’ll do that tomorrow.’ And she’s like, ‘No, no, I have to go in, I’m supposed to be here for them,'” Gomez said.

“It was so classy and it showed that she still loves the craft and wants to be with us,” Gomez continued.
“I’ll never forget her barefoot, singing on set, loving what she was doing,” added the Rare Beauty mogul. “I want that spirit, I want to always love what I do and be there for people.”

Gomez previously talked about what a privilege it is to see Streep do her thing while filming the Hulu series.
She said The Hollywood Reporter that she “just admired” her when Streep first joined in Season 3. “I learned so much from her just being Meryl.”
“She is an inspiration and someone who is incredibly talented while being very humble, professional and kind,” she said.

Seeing Streep, who plays Broadway star Loretta Durkin on the show, was especially memorable as Gomez called it her “favorite moment” of her time on the show.
