Shania Twain Proves She's Still the One in Denim and Diamonds at 2024 People's Choice Country Awards

Shania Twain steps out tonight and looks fabulous while doing it!

The country music icon, 59, walked the red carpet at the 2024 People’s Choice Country Awards wearing the queen of country — denim and diamonds! And her look was completely customized thanks to the collaboration of her stylist Greer Heavrin and Levi!

Twain dazzled down the carpet in a two-piece denim custom-made dress by Levi’s with an oversized collar (a nod to Levi’s iconic Western pointed collar and American roots) and a scattering of crystals and rhinestones. She teamed the design with matching bling denim gloves and a huge blue diamond halo ring on her little finger.

“The ultimate two-piece denim dress and gloves were hand measured, cut, sewn and crystallized especially for Shania Twain to create a standout red carpet moment,” Levi’s announced.

Levi’s referenced “pieces from historic custom looks over the years to create a full-length denim skirt that cinched at the waist for a modern interpretation of the classic mermaid skirt.”

As for the moment of beauty, Twain also looked back. The icon didn’t hold back on the glamour, giving off a retro vibe with her tousled blonde bob paired with a smoky makeup look.

Twain is doing double duty as both the host of the show and a contender in the 2024 concert tour category where her Shania Twain: Come On Over – The Las Vegas Residency – All The Hits! is nominated alongside headliners Luke Combs, Jason Aldean, Morgan Wallen, George Strait, Tim McGraw, Kenny Chesney and the night’s most nominated artist, Zach Bryan. But for “Giddy Up!” singer, being invited to host a show can be the greatest honor of all.

“I want to feel my best and look great in what I wear, so I plan to be glamorous,” she told PEOPLE ahead of the event. “I like to bring glamor to country. It’s great to freshen it up because it was a lot more glamorous when I was a kid. It was very common for men in my grandparents’ country music to wear, for example, pants with crystals and jewels. That’s gone. I think it’s time for country to get a little more glamorous again, so that’s my plan.” (And she definitely succeeded!)

In an interview he shared Billboard on Monday, Sept. 23, the country star revealed that he looks to veteran awards host Reba McEntire — who previously hosted the Country Music Association and Academy of Country Music Awards — for inspiration as he hosts the evening’s show.

“Each of those big shows depends a lot on the spirit and the mood of the presenter, because the presenters are chosen, I think quite carefully, making sure that the people are connected and that the presenter has experience,” she told the news outlet.

Twain continued, “Reba is one of my favorite hosts. She speaks from experience and I think that commands respect and attention. She’s funny and smart, everyone loves her, and it’s a compliment when you’re asked to do something like [hosting an awards show].”

In addition to keeping the show moving, Twain also brings her fashion sense of risk to the stage. Over the past few months, the “Still the One I Want” singer has been experimenting with different hairstyles — including a pink wig that made her more certain she’ll go completely gray one day.

“The pink surprisingly made me look and feel younger, and it’s so light it’s practically grey. So it was a very good surprise,” she said Extra in May.

She added: “Of course I can dye my hair, but what I wanted to get used to is ‘how do I look when my hair is getting lighter and lighter and lighter?’ ”

Twain has also been trying new looks in recent months. In July, she attended Andrea Bocelli 30: The Celebration at Teatro Del Silenzio in Lajatico, Italy, where she wore a flowy dress that ranged from soft pastels to neutrals. Meanwhile, during the residency, the Grammy winner wore a cascading black dress as she performed “From This Moment,” a song so impressive that Twain referred to her as “she” and gave the dress its name.

Miranda Lambert, Kane Brown, Kelsea Ballerini and more will perform at the 2024 People’s Choice Country Awards.

“Her name is Fiona and she probably weighs, I guess, about 20 lbs., maybe more, maybe even 20 to 30 lbs. She’s a structure. I designed her,” Twain told PEOPLE.

“I already knew what it needed to be, and then it was just a matter of adding the right amount,” she continued. “It was like putting a puzzle together. But I already knew what the puzzle was going to look like, what he wanted it to look like. It’s a production of putting it in place, putting it up, taking it down.”

PCCA 2024 will air live on Thursday, September 26 at 8:00 PM ET/PT on NBC and Peacock from the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville.
