Others covered their faces with hoods, while some were seen carrying Palestinian flags in a viral video shared on Xu, formerly Twitter.

The group is believed to be a rival group that formed following rumors of a planned far-right protest in the area.

But the scenes soon turned ugly as young people gathered in large numbers outside the pub while most of the customers hid inside.

One customer at the pub was seen standing outside looking at the gang, in scenes filmed from inside the restaurant in Birmingham.

The footage then shows the balaclava-clad bandit approaching him before knocking him to the floor with a brutal left-handed punch as he tried to move away.

At least two other youths are seen kicking the helpless man several times in the head in the harrowing video.

At that moment, other men in the group jumped over the wall and occupied the space in front of the pub.

One balaclava-wearing thug was even seen kicking at the pub’s windows as terrified pub-goers were heard screaming inside during footage viewed by thousands.

West Midlands Police said they were investigating reports of an assault and “incidents of criminal damage” at the pub.

Chief Superintendent Richard North said: “Fortunately, rumors of significant protest activity in the city have not materialised.

“During the evening there were several sporadic criminal incidents and we will work hard to arrest those responsible.

“We want to assure you that anyone who participates in any crime on our streets will be dealt with severely.

“You will continue to see an increased police presence on our streets over the coming days to keep our communities safe.”

A separate video of the same incident was also shared online by another man across the street from the pub.

He was heard saying: “They’re breaking the party, they shouldn’t be working on that man.

“That’s not right, I don’t agree with that.

“There are probably families there, stupid of them to do that.

“These people are inside, not out on the street demonstrating.”

The footage showed hundreds of youths crossing the road to attack the pub in chaotic scenes as shocked onlookers looked on.

The shocking incident happened close to where a protester interrupted a live Sky News broadcast on Monday.

During the broadcast, host Becky Johnson was interrupted by a masked protester who sped up behind her on a motorcycle.

He shouted “yo, free Palestine, screw the EDL” in the terrifying video.

Other protesters rush into the frame as Sky’s camera pans away.

Crowds also gathered outside McDonald’s in Bordesley Green, Birmingham, chanting to stop the protesters who caused the night’s chaos.

Mosques and homes in Muslim-majority areas were the targets of last week’s riots – sparked by online hoaxes about the murders of three girls in Southport last Monday.

Prime Minister’s warning

Sir Keir Starmer hit out at thugs wreaking havoc across Britain on Monday, saying violence “will not be tolerated” and that the full force of the law will be brought down on perpetrators.

The Prime Minister said: “There are a number of actions that came out of the meeting.

“The first is that we will have a standing army of specialist public duty officers so that we will have enough officers to deal with this where we need them.

“The second is that we will strengthen the criminal justice system. There have already been hundreds of arrests, some have appeared in court this morning.

“I asked for early consideration of the earliest possible appointment and identification of those involved in the process who will feel the full force of the law.”

The prime minister and chief constables have warned bullies online and live.

A No10 spokesman warned social media bosses that they have a responsibility to ensure that criminal activity does not appear or run rampant on their platforms.

They said ministers were in close contact with technical chiefs to “ensure they meet their responsibilities” over racist illegal activities.

Downing Street has also confirmed that there are enough spare prison cells to ensure every rebel is locked up.

More than 420 people have been arrested after social media hoaxes sparked riots across the UK.

Hundreds of thugs petrol bombed a hotel housing asylum seekers in Rotherham, near Sheffield, on Sunday.

Rioters in balaclavas threw bricks and fire extinguishers at police officers who tried in vain to stop them from setting fire to the hotel.

Yobs also petrol bombed a Holiday Inn that was hosting asylum seekers in Tamworth, Staffordshire.

A children’s library in Liverpool and a citizens’ advice center in Sunderland were also set on fire at the weekend.
