- Jaya revealed in an interview that before getting married, Nahata was madly in love with her and when she came back from another city, she would often wait for hours at the airport to pick her up. She further said,
At the peak of my career, I ran into some income tax-related issues. Srikant Nahata has always stood by me during these difficult times. He supports me, brings a smile to my face and is a true friend. Srikanth was already married, but love slowly blossomed. We were married on February 22, 1989. “
