Shweta Tiwari is an Indian television and film actress. She is best known for playing the role of ‘Prerna Sharma’ in the TV series ‘Kasautii Zindagii Kay’ on Star Plus.

Shweta Tiwari started her acting career in 1998 with a small role in Ekta Kapoor’s Kaliren. She next appeared in the TV series “Kaahin Kissii Roz” playing the role of Anika. In 2001, she played the lead role of “Prerna Sharma” in Star plus’s romantic drama “Kasautii Zindagi Kay”. The show ran for about 8 years and brought Shweta huge popularity.

On January 28, 2022, she was charged under Section 295(A) of the Indian Penal Code for hurting religious sentiments of Hindus. Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra has ordered an investigation into the controversial remarks she made at a web series conference in Bhopal.
