Simu Liu Dresses as Aaron Rodgers on Crutches for Halloween After They Both Tore Their Achilles Tendons

Simu Liu knows how to make the most of a situation when it comes to his Halloween costume.

After recently tearing his Achilles tendon, Barbie actor dressed as Aaron Rodgers – who also tore his Achilles last month – wearing a New York Jets jersey, carrying a football and leaning on crutches with a cast on his right foot.

“You boy was too methodical this Halloween 😭🩼,” Liu joked in the caption. “I know this might seem like an effortless costume at first glance, but I can assure you the dedication was absolute. I’ve got the stitches to prove it!”

Liu then thanked his girlfriend Allison Hsu for her support, writing, “Thank you @allison for driving us to surgery at 6am and being there for me the whole time.”

“I wish a speedy recovery for me and @aaronrodgers12 🫡,” he added with the hashtag #noachillesnoproblem.

Between two pictures of Liu posing in a Halloween costume, the Marvel actor, 34, included a photo of a hospital bed behind a curtain and a video of Liu playing on his computer with his injured leg resting on a table.

Liu revealed that he suffered the injury last week on Instagram, although he did not say how it happened. Despite the circumstances, the actor seems to be in good spirits based on photos he shared on Instagram from a recent trip with friends.

The Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings the star posted several photos of him kneeling on a boat with friends and his girlfriend, and another of him standing on crutches.

“Achilles tears aren’t so bad when you have twenty of your best friends carrying you around,” Liu captioned his post. “Thanks for the ultimate friendly sports weekend, I miss walking but I miss you more and more!”

In August, Liu gushed about his girlfriend, with whom he was first linked in late 2022.

“I think she really just taught me value in so many things. She absolutely changed my life, so I’m very, very grateful to have her,” Liu said.
