Facts/Trivia
- In 2020, Sindhu was diagnosed with breast cancer. She also underwent cancer treatment at a private hospital in Kilbuck. She shared a video on social media calling for financial help for her cancer treatment. Many of her fellow actors like Karti, Ishari Ganesh, Satish Kumar and others showed their support by donating towards her hospitalization expenses.
- In a March 2023 interview, Sindhu became emotional while discussing her battle with breast cancer. She revealed that she underwent a mastectomy, which included the removal of one of her breasts. She also expressed a desire to find relief from the immense pain she had experienced and even called for euthanasia. She said,
In 2020, I was diagnosed with cancer and underwent surgery to remove my breast. Since then I have been trying many therapies such as traditional medicine and British medicine. But there is no way to recover from it. I don’t blame the doctors for this. They are treated well. But they don’t cooperate with my body. I spent a month in a village near Thanjavur and tried folk remedies. Then the sores on my breasts healed. But at that time, my son-in-law suddenly passed away from a heart attack. So, unable to continue my treatment there, I came to Chennai. When he was diagnosed with cancer, he was told to take three years off. How can I rest when I can only put food on the table for my family by working? Many friends saw me with cancer and helped me. I only eat because of them and take care of other expenses. How long will they help? Thinking that I shouldn’t be a burden to them, I started filming series again. Then I put the bracelet on my hand, which became swollen due to allergies. Now I have no use of my left arm…it’s dead. If my daughter is also unemployed and has difficulty raising children, I will also take care of her. Instead of living in throbbing pain day after day, I asked doctors to inject poison to kill me. It would be great if this interview could lead to the notice of Chief Minister MK Stalin so that I can get treatment and also help my daughter get a government job. I didn’t hurt anyone. Then I don’t know why God gives me such pain. ”
