Snoop Dogg’s 4 Kids: Everything to Know

Snoop Dogg is best known for his iconic career as a rapper and his cooking shows with Martha Stewart, but he is also a father of four.

The “Drop It Like It’s Hot” artist has sons Corde (29) and Cordell (26), as well as a daughter Cori (24) with his wife Shante Broadus, whom he has been married to since 1997. He also has a son Julian, 25, from a previous relationship.

Snoop gave some insight into his family life on his E! reality show Snoop Dogg’s Father Hoodwhich ran for two seasons from 2007 to 2009 and followed Snoop and Shante as they raised their three children.

In a 2007 interview with PEOPLE, the rapper talked about why he thinks the show and its message are important, saying, “Ninety percent of rappers grow up without fathers, but you see ninety percent of those rappers become fathers to their kids. We are never praised for it. We become real men when we get to this level that we are at right now.”

That same year, Snoop spoke to Ellen DeGeneres about being a strict parent and his experience coaching his kids’ soccer teams.

“I’m tough. I swear at them. But my philosophy is to touch them and then pick them up,” he said. “That’s what I do, to let them know that I expect more from them, because they are better than that.”

Snoop opened up about his role as a father in a 2015 interview Todaytelling the newspaper: “My relationship with my children is more important than anything else. It’s a friendly relationship… it’s based on me being a father, a mentor and a friend.”

He is also a grandfather of five and loves spending time with his grandchildren, posting photos of their quality time together on social media.

Cord Broadus, 29

Snoop’s first child with wife Shanta, Corde Broadus, was born in August 1994.

Corde followed in his father’s footsteps and continues his musical career; he currently performs as a rapper under the nickname Kalvin Love.

He was also the first to make Snoop a grandfather when he had a son, Zion, with ex-girlfriend Jessica Kyzer in 2012.

He has two more children with his longtime girlfriend, Soraya Love: son Leo and daughter Elleven Love. In 2019, the couple also had a son, Kai Love, who died 10 days after birth.

“My son did everything he was supposed to do in his 10 days here on earth. Now he’s graduated and continues to work,” Corde wrote on Instagram a few days after Kai’s death. “He died in my arms and that feeling of energy will never leave me. Kai wants you all to know that he is doing great and wants to continue to inspire those whose light is dim.”

Cordell Broadus, 26

Snoop and Shanta’s second son, Cordell Broadus, was born on February 21, 1997.

Cordell played football throughout high school and went on to play for UCLA, committing to the school in February 2015. However, his career as a Bruin was short-lived, leaving the team in August 2015 to pursue other creative pursuits.

“Cordell informed me yesterday that he has decided to pursue other passions in his life – particularly his love of film through his company, Film School Productions,” UCLA coach Jim Mora said in a statement released Los Angeles Times. “Cordell is an incredible young man with many talents and we wish him nothing but the best as he continues to pursue his degree at UCLA.”

After leaving UCLA, Cordell pursued a career in the entertainment industry. He had a small role in the 2012 comedy Mac and Devin go to high school, which starred Wiz Khalifa and his dad. With his film company, Film School Productions, Cordell now focuses mainly on directing. He worked on a documentary called Son of kingswhich will trace his family’s lineage and “the journey of a black man in America”.

“All my life I have always heard stories about my family and the legacy left by not only my dad, but also my grandfather and those who came before us. I just always wanted to say something that I knew, because I took a writing class at UCLA for film and the professor always said, write what you know. Cordell also took a dive into the music industry. In fact, his first single, “Bron and Bronny,” featured his father. He also has his own publishing house, Real Queen Sound.

“To be honest with you, I’m very critical of my creativity,” he said Women’s daily wear. “Through my music I just want to represent myself and I want to represent individualism. And then just to be unique – I feel like a lot of people chase trends or follow them. I feel like when you’re creating, it’s really about taking a leadership position and being bold and brave,” he continued.

In addition to his music and film career, Cordell is an entrepreneur who has made a name for himself in the NFT space and has worked with companies such as The Bored Ape Yacht Club and Clay Mates. He even started his own taco restaurant called Bored Taco.

As for his personal life, Cordell is the father of two children, whom he shares with his longtime girlfriend, Phia Barragan. His elder daughter Cordoba was born on March 24, 2019 and his second daughter Chateau was born on March 10, 2021.

Julian Corrie Broadus, 25

Snoop shares son Julian Broadus with Laurie Helmond. Julian was born on June 18, 1998.

In 2018, Julian supported his father at Snoop’s Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony. Earlier that year, he shared a memory of a photo of him and Snoop from when he was a baby, with the caption: “Paved the way for me to do whatever I want 💙.”

Now 25, Julian has pursued a career in technology. He is the CEO of Promotion for Voxel X Network, a company in the NFT and gaming space.

Cori Broadus, 24

Snoop’s only daughter, Cori Broadus, was born on June 22, 1999.

Like her siblings, Cori also took her talent to the music industry, singing and performing under the moniker Choc.

She’s also an entrepreneur and business owner, selling beauty products like lip glosses and shimmering body oils through her company, Choc Factory, which she co-owns with her boyfriend, Wayne Duece.

“When I was a little girl, my dad called me ‘Choc’ because I was cute and chocolate-colored,” she told Essence 2022. “And that’s what I put into my products that are handmade and full of love and a hint of sweetness.”

At the age of 6, Cora was diagnosed with lupus, an autoimmune disorder. In September 2022, Snoop and Shante released The Broadus Collection, a collection of scarves and headwear inspired by Cora’s journey with lupus.

“I would put a scarf on her … and so she wouldn’t feel like she was the only one wearing scarves, we all wore scarves with her to make her feel less alone,” Shante said W Magazine.

A year later, Cori opened up to PEOPLE about managing her lupus symptoms.

“I was fine, better than ever,” she said when declaring that she takes a holistic approach to her health. “I stopped taking all my medications about five months ago. [I was] taking 10 to 12 tablets every day. I just do everything natural, all kinds of plants, sea mosses, teas.”

In January 2024, Cori revealed in a post on her Instagram stories that she had suffered a stroke.

“I had a severe stroke and I started to break down crying when they told me. It’s like I’m only 24 years old, which is how I deserved all this in the past,” she wrote and shared photos from the hospital room.

Later that month, Snoop told PEOPLE that Cora was “doing a little better” after spending about a week in the hospital.
