Southern Charm: Shep Calls Taylor’s Prospects with Austen ‘Slimy’ as She Admits to a ‘Moment of Weakness’

Thursday Southern charm saw plaster in a fragile state.

“I’m about to call the home IV service,” Austen Kroll told Taylor Ann Green over the phone. “You should join.”

Jarrett “JT” Thomas took ibuprofen and called his mom to complain about his hangover. Craig Conover and Shep Rose met up for mani-pedis.

Craig, 34, continued to talk about Taylor, 28, and Austen’s friendship, calling it “messy”.

“I know multiple girls that I’ve dated and he’s slept with them afterwards,” Craig said.

Shep, 43, agreed. “There is a history of Austen wanting what I have,” he said.

Meanwhile, Taylor told Austen that she met someone the night before who met her criteria for what she was looking for in a man. “You have to be funny, smart and love Jesus,” she explained.

THE GIRLS GATHER AROUND TAYLOR

The ladies wanted Taylor to get some support after her breakup, so Venita Aspen invited Taylor, Olivia, 30, Lev Bonaparte and Madison LeCroy to her house for a hangout.

Olivia told everyone she ran into Austen, 36, when she was out with a baseball player at a bar recently, and Madison, 32, claimed Austen was being turned on by baseball players, alluding to rumors she slept with Alex Rodriquez.

Attention then turned to Taylor when Venita, 29, said: “We feel that you are behaving differently from what you normally do.”

Referring to how she yelled at Craig at Madison’s wedding, Taylor explained, “I was really just trying to be like, ‘I miss our friendship.'”

Madison told Taylor that she didn’t think Craig would ever choose her over her longtime friend Shep.

“Those guys are thick as thieves,” Madison said. “As I dated Austen, I knew from the start, they were no longer my friends.”

Venita told Taylor that while her feelings are valid, she needs to “go public” when it comes to dealing with the fallout from her breakup with Shep.

“I want to take their advice, but I wear my heart on my sleeve,” Taylor said in a confessional interview.

Madison ended things on a positive note, telling Taylor, “I hope you know you’re not alone.”

QUESTIONABLE MOVES

And Craig was taking steps forward – but in his work, not about it summer house’with Paige DeSorbo.

Sewing Down South had grown to the point where it needed a warehouse, and it had a big deal with Kroger on the horizon. But the increased responsibility means Craig was unable to spend the summer in New York with Paige, 30.

“If Paige doesn’t move to Charleston, that means we’re going to be apart forever,” Craig said on camera.

Austen met with Rod Razavi and Rod, 40, told Austen about his date with Olivia.

“I have some strange, unpleasant news for you,” Rod began. “I may or may not have been out with Olivia and we may have kissed a little and I’m definitely interested. I mean, I want to be able to hang out with you and like, you know, have a drink and have a good time. I thought I’d say that to your face.”

“Are you saying you’re going to ask her out or something?” Austen replied.

Rod confirmed that, yes, he wants to pursue Olivia.

“She’s not my property, so I mean, I saw her last weekend, she was making out with another guy,” Austen said. “You know, like she can do whatever she wants and Rod, I think you’re a fucking great guy, but I can’t say it doesn’t affect me.”

Austen suggested they try it.

“Thank you for being honest with me, I suppose,” Austen said.

Shep brought the pheasant he shot to Olivia’s parents’ house (where she was staying after moving to Houston) and helped her change a light bulb.

As they sat down to enjoy a bottle of red wine, Shep asked Olivia, “What’s Taylor’s current crush?”

“She’s single,” Olivia replied.

After Shep clarified what “disposition” meant, Olivia said that Taylor’s mindset remained “kind of the same.”

“Oh great,” he said. “She hasn’t made any progress.”

Shep mentioned how JT dug into Taylor and Austen’s friendship and how it made him wonder if something happened between his ex and his friend.

“Don’t you think she’d be comfortable enough to tell me?” Olivia asked.

Shep didn’t know if Taylor would tell Olivia. “I don’t know what to think because Austen was speechless,” he continued. “Usually he hits back or whatever. So I have some big questions about Austen’s reliability.”

Olivia was adamant that her best friend would tell her if anything happened between Austen and Taylor.

“I hope not [anything going on] because that’s just slimy,” said Shep. “Obviously we would both be very disappointed in our friends.”

Olivia’s conversation with Shep got her thinking, so the next day Olivia met up with Taylor at a coffee shop. Before Olivia arrived, Taylor called Craig to apologize and invite him to her Day Breaker promotion event.

“It’s all right,” Craig said. “Definitely don’t stress about it.”

When Olivia got there, she repeated to Taylor what Shep had told her about being suspicious of Taylor and Austen.

“Nothing’s happening,” Taylor insisted. “And like, I’m going to put my hand on the Bible. Nothing is happening.”

This made Olivia wonder, “What exactly is Austen so tongue-in-cheek about?”

“After New York, when we both weren’t in a good place with each of us — he wasn’t in a good place with you, I wasn’t in a good place with Shep — but we created, like, that bond,” Taylor explained. “In the midst of that vulnerability and that, like, just absolute, like, brokenness and the two of us being pushed together because of our situations, I thought, ‘I mean, Austen is this something we’re exploring?’ I was the one who said that.”

Taylor explained that after she and Austen talked to their families about the idea, they decided to stay just friends.

“The reason I didn’t like talking to you about it is because you’ve been through so much,” Taylor continued to Olivia.

Learning about this for the first time, Olivia was shocked, and Taylor understood why.

“It was a moment of weakness that I needed my crutch,” Taylor said. “And I didn’t go to God for my crutch, I went to someone else.”

Olivia once again asked if anything had happened to make Taylor consider a romantic relationship with Austen.

“[We] never put together, never anything,” Taylor said. “Swear on my life.”
