Olivia admitted she feels “very lucky” to have the support of her co-stars following the family tragedy, adding: “Everyone pitched in and we really appreciate it.”

Host Andy Cohen then commented that it must have been difficult for Flowers’ ex Austen Kroll, who lost his sister Kyle in 1994, to be in a relationship with her at the time. He replied, “I tried to just get out of my own head and be with her in any way she let me.”

She noted, “Given where we were up to that point, it was nice to know that even for a moment we could put it all aside.”

“My heart breaks for you every day because of what you and your family are going through, honestly,” said Taylor, 29. “I’m more sad that I couldn’t be there for you in the way that, that’s kind of crazy, I can because I know how you feel. That made me sad, but I never wish you harm. I hated this because of you.”

In a statement to PEOPLE at the time, the Flowers family recalled Conner’s friendly nature and devotion to his faith.

“Conner was a remarkable young man, with a gift of compassion and love for others, which made him friends wherever he went,” the family said. “His values are instilled in his faith and family.”

“We know his absence will be felt by many for years to come,” the statement continued. “Please respect our privacy as we grieve the tremendous loss of our son and brother.”

Conner’s death occurred in the midst of filming Season 9.

“It was definitely more of a challenge to finish it,” Flowers told PEOPLE in October. “But all my co-stars have been really supportive in their own way and a lot of people have come to the aid of me and my family and been there for us.”

That support allowed Flowers to continue filming. “It was so incredibly appreciated,” she shared. “They are the reason I kept showing up to finish it. At the end of the day, it’s a job, it’s a commitment, and some days have been incredibly difficult. I had someone like Rod [Razavi] who could help me with that.”
