Earlier this month, she revealed that her hair is growing back after chemotherapy.
But this morning she shared a snap from her hospital bed.
Amy said: “So last week didn’t exactly go to plan! I’m feeling a lot better now and still relaxed.
“But I can’t thank the NHS enough and the care I received on the respiratory unit!”
She added: “Also to my family and Ben of course.
“I was always throwing everything away and spending endless hours by my bed mostly asleep.”
Sharing another photo with an oxygen mask, she said: “Feeling so much better and thanks for the many messages after I went quiet!
“I’m going to oncology today for my monthly shot (I missed last week because I was sick).”
“How is everyone? The sun is shining and I sure can’t wait for spring.”
Amy then shared a video before the injection, explaining how she loves and hates it because it helps her not feed the cancer, but it’s a “brutal needle”.
Fans have gone wild as Amy Dowden makes an epic return to the show after a health battle
She said: “Sitting here and watching everyone have chemotherapy is [heart broken emoji].
“I just want to hug everyone and carry it for them!
“But I look with such admiration at their strength and spirit.
“Then the oncology team are simply pure angels! You certainly see and appreciate life differently now!”
It comes after Amy admitted she was terrified to be booted from the BBC dance show.
Exclusively Amy’s cancer “nightmare”.
The Sun’s Jamie Downham looks back at the ups and downs of Strictly’s favorite star…
AS Strictly Come Dancing viewers know, you’ll be hard-pressed to catch Amy Dowden without a huge smile on her face.
But recently the Welsh star – one of the UK’s top-rated professional ballroom and Latin dancers – has suffered a series of “nightmare” blows to her health.
In May of last year, she was diagnosed with stage three breast cancer and underwent a full mastectomy, before undergoing chemotherapy in late 2023.
However, she later revealed that doctors had found a clot in her lung, sadly telling fans: “Unfortunately, I had another nightmare this week.”
Despite this, brave Amy, seen here dancing with James Bye, made an epic return to Strictly next month with an appearance that left many viewers in tears.
When 2024 dawned, she admitted, “I feel like I’ve been denied the year I planned for and thinking about it makes me upset and angry.”
However, she soon laughed again. Amy, who has started growing her hair back after cancer treatment, was seen messing around with her co-stars Dianne Buswell and Vita Coppola on the Strictly tour earlier this month.
And despite another spell in hospital, she still mustered a cheer many would struggle to find, telling fans: “The sun is shining – I can’t wait for spring too.”
And we certainly can’t wait to see you dance again, Amy…
Her close friend Sara Davies revealed she almost put off chemotherapy.
Speaking on Invite Only, Sara said: “I spent a lot of time with her at the beginning of her cancer diagnosis when she wasn’t feeling positive. She was dealt a bad hand and struggled with it.”
She continued, “I was the one who asked, ‘What’s the plan, Amy?’ and forcing her to make difficult decisions.
“She wasn’t sure if she was going to have chemotherapy so we talked about it.”
Amy was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer last May.
The TV star underwent a full mastectomy and finished chemotherapy at the end of 2023.
Amy joined Strictly Come Dancing in 2017 and quickly became a fan favourite.
