Sugababes' Keisha Buchanan Reveals She Survived Car Crash After 'Blacking Out at the Wheel': 'Thankful for Another Year'

Sugababes member Keisha Buchanan reflects on the terrifying experience.

In a recent series of now-deleted Instagram stories via Metro UKThe singer/songwriter, 40, opened up about surviving a car accident last year.

According to the publication, Buchanan shared a photo of what appeared to be a wreck, showing a car strewn across the road and emergency services blocking traffic.

“This time last year I passed out behind the wheel..Thank you Jesus for my life! I’m thankful for another year.. another time I’ll talk more about the cause of the fainting. I’m happy to be here,” she captioned the picture. .

In a separate post on Instagram Stories, Buchanan apologized to her loved ones for keeping the horrific incident to herself.

“Thank you for your lovely messages… to my family and friends, I’m sorry you found out through social media and a year later,” she wrote.

Buchanan explained that she doesn’t want to discuss the experience with her loved ones because she doesn’t want them to worry.

I just didn’t want anyone to worry about Christmas, she wrote.

Since forming in 1998, Buchanan has been part of the Sugababes lineup, which included Mutya Buena and Siobhán Donaghy.

The original group reunited in 2019 after reclaiming the rights to their Sugababes name. Since then, they have started performing live together again.

Next year, the Sugababes will embark on a major UK arena tour, which was announced in October.

“We are so excited to announce our biggest UK tour ever,” they said in a joint statement on X (formerly known as Twitter). “The past few years have been an absolute blast and we can’t wait to hit the road together next spring!”

They added: “Wait till you see what we have up our sleeves! See you in April!”

The Sugababes will kick off their tour at the First Direct Arena in Leeds on April 8. Trek will also perform at the O2 in London, Co-op Live in Manchester, BP Pulse Live in Birmingham, Utilita Arena in Cardiff, Utilita Arena in Newcastle and the OVO Hydro in Glasgow.

The band will then continue to work across Europe for shows in Antwerp, Belgium; Amsterdam; Cologne, Germany; Berlin; Paris; Zurich; and Milan.
