Swati Singh is an Indian politician. She was a member of the 17th Legislative Assembly of Uttar Pradesh.

Swati Singh joined the BJP in October after her husband Daya Shankar Singh was arrested and expelled from the party in a defamation case against BSP leader Mayawati. Chairperson of the Bharatiya Janata Party Mahila Morcha, the women’s wing of the Bharatiya Janata Party. 2016. In 2017, she contested the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly elections from the Sarojini Nagar constituency on the ticket of the Bharatiya Janata Party and won the election. She defeated Anurag Yadav of the Samajwadi Party by a margin of 34,179 votes to become the Minister of State for Women Welfare, Family Welfare, Maternity and Child Welfare. She has also served as Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Women Welfare NRI, Flood Control, Agri Exports, Agri Marketing and Agricultural Foreign Trade in the Government of Uttar Pradesh.

Beer bar opening ceremony
In May 2017, Swati Singh received a lot of criticism from the opposition and the public after some pictures of her beer bar Be the Beer in Gomti Nagar, Lucknow, went viral on social media. Two senior IPS officers Gaurav Pandey (SSP, Rae Bareli) and his wife Neha Pandey (SP, Unnao) were also with Swati during the inauguration ceremony. The photos came as women in Uttar Pradesh were protesting against liquor sales and consumption. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath sought clarification on the matter.When Swati Singh was asked about the incident, she said
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath approached me for an explanation; I had nothing more to say. ”

In July 2016, Swati’s sister-in-law Asha accused Swati of domestic abuse. She alleged that Swati and other family members used to torture her physically and mentally even during her pregnancy. She married Swati’s brother Puneet in May 2005, and a few months later her family began abusing her and kicked her out of the house multiple times. They threatened to kill her and her children. She claimed that in 2008, she filed a complaint against her mother-in-law, father-in-law and Swati, but someone must have forged it because Swati Singh’s name was not in the complaint file.
Complaints against BSP leader Mayawati
In 2016, Daya Shankar was suspended and expelled from the BJP for calling BSP supremo Mayawati a whore. During the protests against Daya Shankar, some Socialist Party of the Philippines activists began using foul language against Daya Shankar’s wife and daughter. Swati Singh, her mother-in-law and others filed an FIR against Mayawati and other BSP party activists at a police station in Lucknow.

Threaten the police
In November 2019, an audio tape of Swati Singh went viral, in which she questioned circle officer Binu Singh about targeting Ansal Builders matter of filing of FIR and ordered her to quash the FIR. Swati claimed that the case against Ansal Builders was false and higher authorities had asked not to file any complaint against the builder. In this regard, CM Yogi summoned the minister and sought clarification.

Claim against husband Daya Shankar Singh
Amid the tension between Swati Singh and Daya Shankar Singh vying for the 2022 Sarojini Nagar Legislative Assembly election ticket, an audio recording The internet has gone viral wherein Swati Singh while talking to someone said her condition is not good otherwise please give her papers and if Daya Shankar comes to know he will beat her. When she was asked about the audio, she said it was an old clip.
