Tarek El Moussa is cooking up some gossip for his ex-wife Christina Hall, who has become a house prank contestant.
As exes and their new spouses, realtor Josh Hall and Selling Sunset alum Heather El Moussa, get ready to compete against each other on the upcoming HGTV seriesflip off, Tarek could have thrown something at Christina.
In a video sketch posted on his Instagram on May 15, Tarek can be seen sitting in his home when he receives a phone call from Christina – or her name appearing on his phone screen, “Xtina HaacElM…” before hanging up .
Christina’s contact name is a reference to some of her previous surnames over the years, including Tarek’s and that of her second husband Ant Anstead. After that marriage ended in 2020, Christina used her maiden name, Haack, before changing to Hall when she married Josh in 2022.
Tarek and Christina were married for seven years before separating in 2016 and finalizing their divorce in 2018.
Tarek’s phone screen also showed the now-infamous tabloid moment from May 2022, where Tarek, Christina, Heather and Josh can be seen on the sidelines of Tarek’s soccer game and Christina’s 8-year-old son Brayden engage in a heated argument. The Daily mail reported at the time that Tarek and Josh got into a close verbal argument that was broken up by Brayden’s football coach.
Tarek and Christina also have a daughter, Taylor, 13. Heather and Tarek welcomed a one-year-old son, Tristan, in January 2023, and Christina and Anstead have a four-year-old son, Hudson.

“The first day of Flip Off and @thechristinahall is already freaking out and asking for help! Should I give her a hand or get some popcorn? 🍿😂,” Tarek joked in the title of his video. “And yes everyone…it’s officially shooting 😎 Let me know how many hidden jokes you spot in this video!”
The Christina on the Coast star was quick to hit back at her ex-husband, writing in the comments section, “So… I went to buy your book to get some guidance but they said they only have bestsellers.. any idea where I can find it?!”
To which Tarek replied, “Actually I haven’t written how to book yet. After we beat you Flip Off I will write that book and explain all the reasons for your loss 😎.”
Josh, who proposed to Christina in September 2021 and married her in April 2022, also got in on the action, commenting on Tarek’s post: “How long does it take you to get your makeup off your phone after a call?”

Tarek and Christina starred together on the HGTV hit Flip or flop 9 years, even after they broke up, until the end of the series in 2022.

The couple’s relationship was marked by controversy, especially towards the end of the home renovation series. One particularly scary incident involving a gun made headlines when their split became public in December 2016. During the show’s later seasons, it was also revealed that there was more drama going on behind the scenes.

Tarek El Moussa Blows Ex-Wife Christina Haack on ‘Flip or Flop’ Set: ‘That’s Called Winning’
Just two years after completion Flip or flopThe former couple is set to share the screen again for Flip Off.
According to a statement from HGTV, the series will see exes and their new spouses “pitching each other” to see who can “find, buy, renovate and flip a house for the most financial gain.”
In a dramatic trailer for the new series released on May 15, Christina says she “never thought I’d be doing this.”
“This is one of the defining moments of my life,” Tarek adds in the 30-second teaser, as the exes and their spouses step out into the spotlight in dramatic all-black outfits.
The broadcast of the series is planned for the beginning of 2025.
