Taylor Swift Performs Medley of ‘Getaway Car,’ ‘August’ and ‘The Other Side of the Door’ at 2nd Melbourne Show

Taylor Swift was full of surprises in Melbourne!

During the pop superstar’s second consecutive Eras Tour gig in the Australian city on Saturday, she treated fans to a rare performance of three Swiftie-loving songs rolled into one when she whipped out her guitar for a medley of “Getaway Car,” “August” and “The Other Side “.

During the Eras tour, the 34-year-old musician added surprise parts to each set list — which often consists of two songs she doesn’t usually play on tour.

But on Saturday, during her second performance in the city, Swift’s surprise portion began with a medley of three fan-favorites from her albums Reputation, Folklore and Fearless.

“I just really want you to be happy because you make me happy,” Swift told fans before the song, according to a fan-filmed clip. “I figured you might want to hear this, let me know anyway.”

Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour Surprise Songs: The List So Far

Performing mid-set, acoustic guitar in hand and wearing a red dress, Swift opened with “Getaway Car,” joking with fans that she realized she had “picked the right one” for her secret song.

About halfway through, she started to join her choir Folklore featured “August,” prompting even more screams from the unsuspecting crowd, before throwing them the wrong ball again with “The Other Side of the Door.”

The rest of Swift’s surprise set also included a piano performance of “This is Me Trying,” another song fans weren’t used to hearing on the set list.

Just the day before, during Swift’s Friday in Melbourne, The Department for tortured poets singer debuted her fan favorite Midnight ballad “You’re Losing Me.” Swift described the song as “one of my favorites” before sitting down at the piano for a moving performance.

The pop superstar’s concert at Melbourne Stadium also marked her biggest crowd to date, as it was her first performance in front of 96,000 fans – a fact she acknowledged during Friday’s performance.

“This is the biggest show we’ve done on this tour or any tour I’ve ever done,” she told the audience in the clip divided by X (formerly known as Twitter).

“That’s the version you have of me tonight, the version that’s completely in awe of the fact that so many of you wanted to hang out with us on Friday night in Melbourne,” Swift added.

Surprise songs aside, Swifties have a lot to be thankful for this year. From the singer’s Grammy wins (including a trophy for her fourth album of the year) to the announcement of her upcoming album Department for tortured poetsit’s been a busy 2024 for Swift.

Swift’s upcoming LP, due out in April, features a song called “Clara Bow,” which shares the same name as the famous late actress. Bow’s family — especially her great-granddaughters, Nicole Sisneros and Brittany Grace Bell — told PEOPLE they were stunned when Swift revealed the tracklist.

We couldn’t believe it, Sisneros said. “We were shocked and then the intrigue started because no one from our family was contacted or knew about this before. We found out via an Instagram post like everyone else.”

“[During her Grammy speech Swift] she said she’s been working on this for the last two years so [we] I just want to know what motivated him and where the connection comes from,” she added.

Sinsneros also explained that she even took her oldest daughter on the Eras Tour, and that she was “excited and looking forward to telling my little friends” about her family ties to Swift’s upcoming album.

Department for tortured poets arrives April 19.
