Mackenzie McKee has sincere conversations with her children.

Later, Mackenzie hangs out with her three children when they ask them if they have recently been heard from their father.
“Dad no longer responds to my calls,” Broncs says.
“Neither do I. Dad never suits me,” Jaxie says.
“He replies Gannon, but not me,” Broncs adds.
“I don’t even have to call Dad. He calls me,” Gannon admits.
Jaxie says the last time she spoke with her father, he promised to come to one of her cheerleading competitions, but did not follow.
“The first time he left, when you first divorced, then I started knowing for the first time,” Gannon told Mackenzie.
“Knowing what?” She asks.
“Not to hold on to what he says. Don’t believe his word,” Gannon replies.
Mackenzie is obviously upset by what her children say, but it remains calm as she tells them, “I just want you to have any connection you want to have with him. I know you don’t see him often and it’s like twice a year …”

He then gets the kids to release their frustration screaming into the pillows together. In a later confession, she admits, “When I think of our family, I think of me and Khesenio and three children.”
“What I want is for Josh to be more involved in their lives, but he just is not. These children love their father, but Khes is also a dad and now he is consistency and he has been solid for two years. Josh and I have been together for 10 years. I can’t even tell you a month that my children have something that was solid.”
