A 16-YEAR-OLD boy has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a teenage girl was found dead in a home.

A woman was pronounced dead after emergency services were called to a home in Bristol at 6.23pm yesterday.

Officers rushed to a residential street in Bristol

Police officers arrested the young man at the scene on suspicion of murder and he remains in custody.

Official identification has yet to be completed, but the woman’s next of kin have been notified and she is believed to be in her late teens.

A forensic autopsy will be performed in the coming days to determine the cause of death.

A cordon has been put in place in Cromwell Road, in the St Andrew’s area of ​​Bristol, this evening.

District Chief Inspector Vicks Hayward-Melen said: “Tragically, a young woman has lost her life.

“Our thoughts are with her family and loved ones at this devastating time.

“Specialist family liaison officers are supporting them and will continue to keep them informed of our investigation.

“There will be a large police presence in the area in the coming days as we investigate.

“However, we believe this is an isolated incident and there is no wider risk to the public.

“Our neighborhood teams will be in the area conducting reassurance patrols.

“I would encourage anyone who has any concerns to speak to them.”
