Challenge 40: Battle of the Epochs set out to determine the greatest challenger of all time. With only Rachel Robinson remaining in place from Era 1, it could be argued that the longest tenured players in the game may not be the GOATs.
November 6 episode Challenge 40 placed four contestants on his own Mount Rushmore: Johnny “Bananas” Devenanzio, Cara Maria Sorbello, Laurel Stucky and Chris “CT” Tamburello. Jordan Wiseley hoped to add himself to the sculptures of the greats, and the animated Mount Rushmore showed what it would look like to have The real world; Portland alum along with the other four champions.
“I want to be known as a competitor,” Wiseley, 34, told ex-fiancée Tori Deal. “World champions it was cool, I want another win here. It would be five. I would be in the same boat as CT.”

Tamburello, 44, was eliminated earlier in the season and Stucky, 39, was excited after the daily challenge on the Nov. 6 episode. Host TJ Lavin announced that the challenge on November 6 will be a mini finale – and a purge. This meant that the last female and male players automatically went home, and the second-to-last placed men will go to elimination. The second-to-last placed woman would be at a disadvantage in the next challenge.
When Stucky found herself in the bottom two alongside Michele Fitzgerald, she decided to give up. “I’m done. I’m fine. I want to go home,” Stucky stated. “This is not something I want to do anymore.”

The All stars the Season 4 winner called the challenge “torture.” “I’m calming down,” she said to the cameras. “This is actually torture, so I don’t want to be tortured.”
Nehemiah Clark finished last in the men’s category after the daily challenge and was eliminated. Penultimate finisher Theo Campbell went into the men’s elimination against Devenanzio, 42, and Death, taxes and bananas The podcast host was at his best after mocking daily challenge winners Deal, 31, and Kyland Young on The Chamber.
Knowing that Deal would not put her ex-fiancé in elimination, Devenanzio decided during deliberations to trim his toenails, file his hands and trim his beard.

“I know I’m going to the Arena, so I just want to make sure I look good while I’m doing it,” he told Deal and Young, 33. “And I’m ready to go.”
Campbell had to submit to a karma vote following his elimination after Devenanzio chose Fitzgerald, 34, Sorbella, 38, and Olivia Kaiser as his next targets. The seven-time champion also proved why he deserved a place at Challengeversion of Mount Rushmore.
