When Jessica asks about Alice’s new friend, the girl answers and gives the first sign that all is not well with this stuffed animal: “Chauncey says you can’t play with us because you left him.”

Jessica and Chauncey went on a scavenger hunt, looking for things like “something happy”, “bowls” and “brushes”.

“If I can finish my list, Chauncey will take me on a trip to where he’s from,” Alice explains.

But other items are more disturbing, including “something that scares you” and “something that hurts.” The latter leads Alice to stick her hand on a rusty nail from the fence.
