The Night Agent Season 2: All About the Thriller's Highly Anticipated Second Installment

Get ready for more high-speed car chases, government conspiracies, and thrilling action on Netflix — because Night agent officially returns for a second season in January 2025.

In February 2024, Tudum announced that Netflix had begun production on 10 more episodes for the spy thriller series, which reached more than 150 million hours watched in its first week. No release date has been set, but show creator and showrunner Shawn Ryan has announced that some new faces will be joining the cast.

The fate of the rest of the first season’s cast has yet to be determined, although Ryan has hinted that villains who escaped justice could resurface.

“We liked the idea that this wasn’t so clean,” Ryan said, referring to Gordon Wick, Ben Cotton’s character, who faced no consequences for his involvement in the assassination attempt. “That there is one person who, because of his resources and everything, can sneak in. Maybe we’ll deal with him again in some way.”

Basso also teased some unfinished business with disgraced White House Chief of Staff Diane Farr (Hong Chau). Although she survived a bullet wound in the season finale, it was unclear if she would face any repercussions.

“Because of his faith in due process, he will not be angry that she is alive,” the actor told Tudumu. “But if Farr escapes justice, he’ll be a little more careful [President] Travers. It’s not okay for Peter to be a traitor and not get justice.”

Amanda Warren will play veteran night agent Catherine, who runs a research program and oversees the training of new recruits. The actress is best known for her roles in Remains and Dickinson. Also joining the second season cast are Arienne Mandi as low-level assistant Noor, Louis Herthum as international businessman Jacob Monroe, and Berto Colon as Solomon, a veteran Marine who “solves” a very rich man’s problems.

Buchanan said to Tudum that he hopes Rose will once again realize her dreams of working in tech.

“[The ending] leaves it open,” said the actress. “And I want an ending for her. I said, ‘This girl needs a lot of therapy after what she’s been through.’ ”
