The Repair Shop’s Jay Blades addresses season break with update on show

Repair Shop star Jay Blades has shared an update on upcoming episodes of the BBC reality show, which hasn’t aired a new episode since early July.

Taking to Instagram after Wednesday night’s programme, which was a repeat of the previous installment, Jay assured viewers that more episodes are on the way.

“Good morning everyone. Did you see @therepairshoptv last night and what did you think?” asked the host.

“I know it was a repeat, but we’re recording some brand new ones for you right now. Hang in there.”

Reacting to the update, fans shared their delight in the comments section. One person wrote: “Good to hear new episodes are on the way! Another good show last night… you have such a talented cast! So glad she’s back for an hour show!” while the other added: — I can’t wait.

Other fans assured Jay that they enjoyed watching the reruns, with one person writing: “Never get bored of The Repair Shop even when you watch the reruns,” while another commented: “The reruns are still worth watching. Dom’s project was fantastic , the reaction from the girl was fantastic.”

The BBC has not broadcast a new episode of the program on fixing the inheritance since 5 July. According to the BBC website, there are six episodes left of the final season, and although we don’t know exactly when they will be broadcast, we do know that the experts are hard at work in the stable.

Dom Chinea, the resident metal show expert, shared a behind-the-scenes clip back in July. Posting photos from inside the barn showing several cameras pointed at Dom, who was sitting at his desk, he captioned it: “@TheRepairShopTV team making sure to capture every angle.”

The cast are also preparing to film their Christmas special and have invited fans to apply to appear on the show with their festive items. Speaking to fans in a video shared on the show’s official Instagram account, carpentry expert Will Kirk said: “At The Repair Shop we’re doing a selection of Christmas items. So if you’ve got something Christmasy at home that needs fixing, get in touch.”

Where is The Repair Shop filmed?

The program is filmed at the Weald and Downland Living Museum in Singleton, a small village in the Lavant Valley in Chichester County, West Sussex.

The barn itself is actually a building called the Palace Barn and dates from the end of the 17th or beginning of the 18th century. It was originally built at Lee-on-the-Solent, Hampshire, but was dismantled in 1977 and transported to Singleton, where it was rebuilt in 1979.

Can you visit The Repair Shop barn?

Yes, fans can visit the iconic Repair Shop barn, but only on certain dates of the year.

The barn is closed to the public while filming takes place, which usually takes nine months.
