The 67-story, $3.7 billion luxury resort and casino — brought to life by Fontainebleau Development and named after its sister hotel in Miami — is in the final stages of construction, according to a press release.

Jeffrey Soffer, president and CEO of Fontainebleau Development, first announced the resort in 2005, and it was originally slated to open in 2008, according to Los Angeles Times.
However, due to recession-related complications, the building sat unopened and “70 percent complete” for more than a decade, according to The Hollywood Reporter. After reacquiring the property in 2021 in partnership with Koch Real Estate Investments, Soffer and Fontainebleau Development are back in business.
Now, 18 years after it was first announced, the hotel has an official opening date of December 13, and its 3,644 rooms and suites are open for online reservations.
