Booking.com just announced that a desert town in Utah is the most welcoming city in America.

Moab, Utah tops the list of America’s 10 most welcoming cities in Booking.com’s Traveler Review Awards. The recent award recognizes various destinations for their “accommodation and transportation partners who go above and beyond to deliver an incredible stay for guests,” according to Booking.com. “These destinations have an above-average amount of properties with exceptional reviews for friendly hospitality.”

Located in the southeastern region of Utah, the desert oasis is “a true nature lover’s paradise,” according to Booking.com. The city invites visitors and residents to explore some of the USA’s many beautiful landscapes — including red rock formations, natural sandstone arches, and the mountainous landforms of Mt.

Travelers can explore Arches and Canyonlands National Parks or head up the Colorado River, allowing visitors to explore the rock formations on foot or by kayak, paddleboard or raft on their way through the environment. Other activities include mountain biking and horse riding.

For those looking to unwind after a day of exploring, travelers can head into town and wander among the many boutiques and restaurants. Visitors can enjoy anything from bakeries, breweries, taco trucks to fine dining.

Along with its reputation as the most welcoming city in the US, the region around Moab also has some of the darkest skies in the country, making for an ideal night of stargazing for visitors.
