Tia Mowry Shares Highlights of 'Healing' Family Vacation in Thailand: ‘I Have Learned So Much About Who I Am’

Tia Mowry reflects on her “healing” trip to Thailand.

The Sister, sister alum, 45, traveled to the Asian country with her two children — son Cree, 12, and daughter Cairo, 5 — for a family vacation. She shared an Instagram Reel showing highlights of their adventures on Saturday, as she talked about how the trip was a “moment of peace, healing and growth” for her.

“I feel like I’ve learned so much about who I am and who I want to be,” she wrote of the experience in the caption of the post, adding, “As women, we’re taught to be selfless, but I was unpacking this concept and realizing that I never we will not truly feel whole if we want to be less alone.”

She then saluted the loved ones in her life who have stood by her through the “challenges” she has recently faced. Although she did not clarify what she specifically meant, she separated from Cory Hardrict in 2022 after 14 years of marriage.

“Despite the challenges of the past few years, I am extremely grateful to my support system, my community, my people for standing by me,” she continued. “They have played a huge part in my journey. To my entire community, thank you – I love you so much!”

In her reel, Mowry included clips of her and her children relaxing on a plane, exploring the stunning landscape of Thailand, swimming, getting up close and personal with an elephant and taking a boat ride. She also filmed herself enjoying a swim in the ocean as she explained why the family decided to go to Thailand.

Tia Mowry says she ’embraced moments of solitude’ in 2023: ‘I’ve never been alone. so far’

“A lot of people have asked me, ‘Why Thailand?'” she said in a clip shown as part of her Reel.

“You know I’ve been through some of the most challenging times in my life. And I was looking for a place to heal, and Thailand was definitely that for me. I can’t tell you how magical this place is.”

She ended her message by sharing her optimistic outlook for the coming year.

“2024 is the year I’m looking forward to. And I just want to send you peace, love and thanks for just, you know, being there for me. I couldn’t do it without you,” she said.

Back in October, Mowry revealed that she went on a solo trip — a retreat — that she said was “just what I needed at this point in my life.”

She explained in a thoughtful Instagram post at the time that she spent a lot of time documenting and processing everything she’s been through over the course of the year.

“The great discovery for me was the recognition that I am in a constant state of evolution, and that is not only acceptable, but actually beautiful,” she wrote. “It signifies personal growth and the ability to acquire knowledge and self-improvement.”

She also shared that the experience showed her how important it is to take time for yourself. “The more I prioritize self-care and ensure my own well-being, the more effectively I can support and help others,” she explained. “Once my cup is full, I can better fill those in my community!”
