Tom Cruise's Famous Coconut Cake Is Back! Glen Powell Reveals He Just Received the Holiday Gift

Glen Powell celebrates the return of Tom Cruise’s famous coconut cake.

On Friday, Dec. 13, Powell, 36, proved he’s once again made Cruise’s annual cake list, sharing a photo of the holiday gift on his Instagram Stories.

“Cruise cake has arrived…” the Twisters wrote the star with a cake emoticon.

The much talked about cake was boxed with the usual gold bow and glittery reindeer decoration.

The label was addressed to Powell and read, “Warmest wishes this holiday season.” It was signed “Tom Cruise”.

Powell became close friends with Cruise after starring in 2022 Top Gun: Maverick as Lt. Jake “Hangman” Seresin alongside Cruise’s naval officer Pete “Maverick” Mitchell.

He is one of the many celebrities on Cruise’s cake list, which also includes Kirsten Dunst and Jesse Plemons, Angela Bassett, Hayley Atwell, Rosie O’Donnell, Tom Hanks and many more.

A sweet treat that Cruise usually sends in December each year is a white chocolate coconut cake from Doan’s Bakery in Woodland Hills, California. It earned a spot on PEOPLE’S 50 Favorite Foods of 2023.

Powell spoke openly about his love for the gift, going on to say Show Jennifer Hudson in November 2022, “It’s the most delicious cake you’ve ever eaten.”

“My friends who tried it, they love it so much they called me around December 1st. ‘Hey, did it arrive yet?’ Anyone but you the star continued.

“So now I’m having a party at my house where I’m going to eat Cruise Cake. It’s my ‘Cruise Cake Party’.” And I’ll invite people to try a bite or two… [they] he cannot become greedy. I really have to limit people. I can’t let them come back for a second,” he continued. “It usually gets destroyed by the end of the night.”

It’s not the only time Powell has spoken about his friendship with Cruise, in which he has spoken Hey! News in July, “It’s the best.”

“He’s such a great friend and such a great mentor and it’s been such a special part of my life,” he added in the introduction to the creation Top Gun sequel with Cruise a few years ago.
