Tracy Tutor Reveals Her New Dallas Bachelorette Pad and Opens Up About ‘First Time’ Living Alone (Exclusive)

Tracy Tutor embraces a fresh start thanks to her new girl pad in Dallas!

After deciding to expand her real estate business to Texas and live there part-time, The A million dollar listing in Los Angeles the star (49) finally opens the doors of his newly renovated space.

PEOPLE got the first exclusive look at Tutor’s new home away from home that also serves as a sanctuary where she can enjoy her own company following her split with ex Erik Anderson. The luxury estate agent says she is “excited” to move into her new abode as it marks an important milestone for her since her break-up.

“Believe it or not, this is the first time I’ve lived alone,” Tutor tells PEOPLE exclusively. “First there were roommates, then boyfriends, then husband, then husband and two children, more boyfriends, but always dogs. It’s refreshing to come home to my own space there and that’s just how I left it.”

Realtor Douglas Elliman opened up about his season 15 breakup MDLLA (Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ET on Bravo). As she comes to terms with ending her three-and-a-half-year relationship this season, Tutor tells PEOPLE she’s ready for a clean 10 and that her Dallas apartment is helping her get there.

“Well, the shackles are off, as they say,” he jokes. “New city, new beginning.”

When it comes to interior design for any of her homes, Tutor says she’s “always about light and space” and looks for artwork that’s “the perfect amount of provocative and fun.” For its Dallas outpost, Tutor teamed up with Samuel Lynne Galleries to decorate its space with “special pieces” by David Yarrow.

“It was important to me to keep a neutral palette so I could come home after a crazy day in Dallas and relax,” she explains, adding that the interior was created in just two weeks with a little help from the team at George Bass Design.

However, there is one piece in her home that Tutor paid particular attention to as he brought his design vision to life.

“The most important element for me is my bed – I value my sleep more than most,” she says. “I thought I had hit the jackpot with my bed in Beverly Hills, but Hästens proved me wrong. It’s like a cloud.”

Being a “California girl at heart,” Tutor adds that she’s also very appreciative of her outdoor spaces, which is why her patio “should have been treated as a room unto itself.”

As for why she chose Texas as her new home base, she says it all started because of work, as she saw her network start to leave California and go to tax-free states. However, after experiencing the lifestyle the Lone Star State had to offer, she realized she wanted more.

“When I got there, I immediately fell in love not only with the opportunity, but also with the people. It was easy for me to become a part-time resident,” she explains. “After building a team of successful agents, it became obvious that I wasn’t just going to sell there, I wanted to be there.”

Tutor is even open to moving permanently to Texas at some point, if the time is right: “I’ve learned in life never say never.”

As for whether she’s ready to one day share her Dallas home with someone special, she emphasizes that her new place is hers alone for now, but she’s warming up to the Texas dating scene.

“I’m not ready to share it yet,” she says, referring to her apartment, “but I’m open to finding a partner.” He may be in the greater Dallas area, hopefully with a home of his own.”
