She began receiving treatment at age 18 and discovered she had gender nonconformity, as well as symptoms of depression and poor mental health that had persisted since childhood. She completed gender confirmation surgery abroad in February 2023.

Facts/Trivia
- She is the first transgender woman doctor in Karnataka.
- As a child, Trinatra loved to wear her mother’s sari and bindi, an act that endeared her to her parents and neighbors. As she grew older, however, neighbors began urging her to take part in activities usually associated with boys, such as playing cricket. In an interview, Trinitra revealed that these suggestions prompted her parents to consult a renowned psychiatrist, who advised her that she needed more male influence in her life.

- In an interview, Trinetra shared a school memory that involved her admiring the barrettes worn by her classmates. She wanted to try it herself but couldn’t ask directly, so she told a friend that her mother wanted to try it and the friend gave it to her. When the teacher noticed the missing hairpin and learned it was for Trinatra, she put it in Trinatra’s hair in front of the class. Trina was so humiliated by the ensuing laughter from her classmates that she cried during the next two classes.
