TV legend signs for Celebrity Big Brother – as bosses hope he spills A-list secrets from decades in showbiz

HE has spent more than a decade judging people on TV, as one of the X Factor’s longest-serving judges.

Now Louis Walsh is about to get a taste of his own medicine, as I can reveal he’s happily signed up to be a contestant on Celebrity Big Brother.

Louis, a panelist on ITV’s The X Factor from 2004 to 2014, then 2016 to 2017, is said to have bagged a whopping six-figure deal to enter the CBB house when the show restarts on ITV1 next month.

A close associate of Irishman Louis, who has also fronted a string of high-profile music acts over the years, said: “He is one of the most intriguing signings for Celebrity Big Brother as he has almost half a century of show business experience to look back on when he enters the house.

“Viewers will be most interested in his memories of his time on The X Factor and working with big names including Westlife and Boyzone.

“But there may be a few celebrities outside the house who are nervous about what he might say, as Louis is notoriously outspoken.”

Asked if Louis would be working on CBB, an ITV spokesperson only said: “All names are pure speculation.”

Jedward ‘pointers’

But The Sun reported last month that he is in advanced talks with CBB bosses and has been working on a deal since then.

Producers are hoping to keep the full line-up under wraps so that some of the big names can be revealed in the live show which airs on March 4.

But three names have already been leaked before the battle begins — they are Kate Middleton’s uncle Gary Goldsmith, wife of former boxing champion Amir Khan, Faryal Makhdoom and Love Islander Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu.

If Louis needs any tips on how to win over viewers, perhaps he can get them from his old co-star Jedward, who he mentored when the X Factor comedy duo started their, ahem, singing careers.

On second thought, it might be better to advise him to look elsewhere for pearls of wisdom.
